DESCRIPTION
Coming to Brevard, NC, the challenging SMAR will bring teams across
some of the most beautiful, rugged terrain in North Carolina. At
around 95 miles, teams of four will paddle, trek, and mountain bike
across some of the most diverse terrain in the southern
Appalachians. Think fall leaves and cooler weather - the race
promises to be an exciting event for all. We hope to see everyone out

Qualifier
ROPEWORK CERTIFICATIONS
The fall SMAR has a rappelling section, and requires a ropework
certification. Hairy Scary Evolutions (www.hairyscaryevolutions.com)
will be the SMAR ropework team, and are offering a discount on
certifications to all SMAR racers. On 8/13/05, 9/17/05, and 10/1/05
the HSE team will offer ropework certifications at Currahee Mountain
in the Lake Russell Recreation Area (rappelling only) for only
$50/person to the first 20 participants each day. This is a first
come, first served opportunity so once the spots fill up they are
