Hey I know this is really last minute...but we just had 2 teams drop
out of our tournament for this weekend! Is there any other interest
in playing??
UNCG Club
You can find the four pool brackets at our website under the files
section at:
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/CWCVL/
- Each match will be two games starting at 4-4
- The top two teams from each pool will advance where 1v8, 2v7, 3v6,
and 4v5 will play. The CLOSEST non-playoff team in the final pool
match will ref the quarter final match on their court.
- The TWO CLOSEST quarter final losers will ref the semis. The
CLOSEST semi loser will ref the finals.
- Playoff format will be best 2 of 3. If the 2nd and 3rd place teams
are tied in pool play, head to head will be the first tie breaker.
If they split their pool match, ONE GAME to FIFTEEN will determine
who advances to the playoff round. The top team on each court will
be ranked 1-4. The 2nd place teams will be ranked 5-8.
- Jeff Dobert will be there to monitor the semis and officiate the
finals. Teams will do all of the officiating except for the final
match. BRING WHISTLES!!!!!!!!
- Phoebe, your co-commissioner from ASU, will be running the event
with the help of Jeff.
Please contact me if you have any questions.

teams of 6 and a minimum of 4 players, must have 2 girls on the team.
Will be played on co-ed net height. Entry fee is $10 per person.
Winners get cash prize and t-shirts. If anyone is interested please
send me your roster by April 2nd. Also, if anyone has any questions,

Good Morning Ladies,
We will be in Greensboro on the 29th. We will either be at the
Sportsplex or Barber Park which is about 10 minutes away. I will have
finally location and details later.
Kevin
The deadline for Dallas entry was March 3rd. Here is what I received
from NIRSA:
Complete packages prior to deadline:
NCSU
UVA
VT
DUKE
ASU
UNC CH
This is what NIRSA has. They also have over EIGHTY other teams. Not
every team that has entered (Nationally) will have a spot to play, so
I don't know what the final Carolina entries will look like.
Hopefully you'll all get to go, but I have no control over that. If
you have any specific questions, and I haven't contacted you already
please feel free to contact me.

Hey! We are hosting a volleyball tournament here at East Carolina
University on April 5th. We currently have 10 teams competing and we
would love to have some more. The cost is $150 for the first team and
$125 for additional teams. We really hope you will decide to compete
in our tournament. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns,
email us at ecu_volleyball@... . Hope to see you in April!
Radford University will be hosting a tournament Saturday, March 22nd. We are actually going to split out courts down the middle and our men's club volleyball team will host a tournament that same day as well. SO, tell you men's teams about it and yall can make the trip together. We don't have a lot of slots, so if you are interested, please email me back ASAP. Cost for the teams is $125
Thanks, have a good Spring Break!!

Good Morning,
The Sportsplex is a great facility, but you are NOT allowed to bring in coolers. They have a concession stand and they also normally have Subway come in to sell food. There are also a few restaurants about a mile away.
We are playing there for a few reasons. The Carolina Region of USAV would like to partner with us. This will do two things:
1. There will be a junior tourney going on also. That will give your "little sisters" the chance to see us play and to learn about our program.
2. This is the important one to me. USAV has an adult National championship EVERY year. The highest age division is 70 and under so you ALL have plenty of time to keep playing if you'd like. We just want you to know that you can have a volleyball life after college, and the Carolina Region has one of the best adult programs in the country. So, we're going to try to figure out an inexpensive way to make your club team eligible to play within the Region if you'd like to do so.
I'm going to try to post the pools on Thursday provided I hear back from everyone. I'm still waiting on two teams.
Hey!
So far we only have four teams (UNCW, Coastal Carolina, Campbell, and
Appalachian)! We would really like to have four more teams- MARCH 15-
in Wilmington! Please let me know if you are interested in attending!
Thanks!

Nice job yesterday ladies! In the end, VT beat Radford and UNC beat
NCSU to advance to the finals. VT beat UNC in two close games to
take home the $1500.00. Congrats!!!
Please send in any comments, questions, or concerns. I, for one,
didn't like the format we used for our "big" day. I think it
would've been better to have a "National Bracket" and a "Regional
Bracket", but that's just my opinion. YOUR votes are what count,
and the vote was close.
I liked the Sportsplex, and heard nothing but good feedback from all
involved. There is a women's adult tournament there on March 2nd.
If any of the National teams would like to play in it I believe I
can get you in at a very reasonable price, and you'll get the chance
to play some "new" teams. PLEASE let me know if you're interested!!!

ELON (1)
UNCG (1)

brackets. We still have not heard back from a couple of schools.
Thank you!!

Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
CWCVL group:
We have two options for Saturday.
OPTION 1: We can have the 7-8 teams going to Nationals play in one division to
decide who gets the money for Nationals.
OPTION 2: We can split everyone over four courts. The top two teams from each
court advance to the quarter finals creating the top 8. Memebers of the top 8
that are going to Nationals will be eligible for the money.
I don't have an opinion either way. PLEASE vote as soon as possible.

Well, there are actually 3 tournaments taking place on February 23. JMU is also hosting a tournament. We currently have 13 teams in our tournament and are looking for 3 more. I know there are a couple of teams that have not given me a definite yes or no answer so I have not included them in the count of the # of teams in our tournament. If we get enough replies, we would be glad to host a 20 team tournament as we have the gym for the day. We are charging $150 for the first team and $125 for any additional teams.
Hope to hear from you soon. And Good Luck to all teams playing on Feb. 23rd!
