East Carolina University will be hosting a tournament October 3rd.  The first
team will cost $125.00 and each additional team will cost $100.00  Please
contact Morgan Pearce at ecu_volleyball@... if you are interested in
signing up for the the tournament.  We would like to have 16-20 teams.  Sign ups
we be on a first come first served basis.  We hope to see you at our tournament.

The schedule for this season is as follows:

NOVEMBER 14TH
FEBRUARY 6TH
MARCH 6TH

If you would like to host a tournament, please let me know.  As always, the
November tournament will be an "East / West" regional at two sites.

The February event will be the "Championship" event at which the National Team
winners will receive a stipend for their trip.

There have been MANY HUGE changes throughout the collegiate club volleyball
world, and I will address those in a second message.  Since those changes will
impact our league, I will post membership amounts ($) prior to October 1st, and
all payments will be due by November 1st.

***VERY IMPORTANT***

If you are no longer involved, PLEASE let me know AND send me a replacement.

I have also just created the CAROLINA WOMEN'S COLLEGIATE VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE group
on Facebook.  PLEASE join by going there or going to my "KEVIN GOULD" page.  I
think this will be a MUCH easier form of connectivity for all of us.

Hey everyone!

I hope that you all have fully enjoyed your summers and the start of the school
year.  We are planning on hosting a tournament November 7th at NCSU in our
Carmichael Gym.  We would like to have about 12 teams participate in the
tourney.  It will be $150 for the first teams and $100 for any second or third
teams.  Please send an email to kaganoe@... if you are interested in
participating.  We will follow first come, first serve when filling spots.  More
information will be sent out to teams when we get closer to the tournament date.

The brackets that I posted are NO GOOD based on dropped teams.  I will TRY to

UNCG:

FROM Raleigh: From I-40/I-85 take the Elm-Eugene Street exit and turn
right. Continue straight on Eugene as two roads split (Elm goes to
right). Take a left onto Lee Street. Take a right onto Aycock Street.
Go two blocks and take a right onto Walker Avenue. A large parking lot
is on the corner of Walker and Aycock. Gyms are across the street.

From the West: From I-40 take the Patterson Street/Coliseum Exit (to
the left). Continue on Patterson until you come to a T (Lee
Street/High Point Road). Turn left onto Lee Street. Take a left onto
Aycock Street. Go two blocks and take a right onto Walker Avenue. Park
in the large lot at corner of Walker and Aycock. Gyms are across the
street.

I had a last minute change last night, so I will post the brackets in a few
minutes.  If there is a mistake, I need to know immediately.  WE WILL NOT have
the flexibility to change things much on Saturaday morning.  It will be three
four team pools.

On another note, PLEASE don't make officiating the finals and semi finals an
issue.  If you are one of the top six teams and you lose in the quarters or
semis you will have to officiate UNLESS UNCG is available.

Ladies,

The teams fall into three catagories...

1. Those that are playing
2. Those that are not playing
3. Those I have no clue about

This has been a "strange" year for CWCVL.  There are a handful of you that I
hear from often and MANY of you that I don't hear from at all.  Plus, we've
NEVER had the court problems we're having for this event.

With that being said, and since we have several teams that won't be coming, we
will be having ONE tournament with three courts and 15 teams at UNCG.  The
captain's meeting will be at 8am.  I will post the brackets on Tuesday night
based on what YOU send me.  If I do not hear from you by noon on Tuesday you
will most likely not have a spot in the event.  When you respond, please list a
contact number.

Ladies,

Things are finally coming together for 21st.  I just have a few things to do
before I post the final sites and the brackets based on travel and availability.

There are SEVERAL other things going on that weekend. I already know that JMU1
and both ELON teams will not be attending.  With that being said, I NEED TO KNOW
if there are any other teams that will not be playing.

With your help I'll be able to get the info out by this Saturday.

Ladies,

I still haven't received any solid options for hosting on March 21st.  Now, I
will admit that I've been having problems with my email account.  So, if you
sent me a request to host, PLEASE follow that up with a phone call!!!

UVA can host a 3 court tourney, but they can only do it on Sunda the 22nd?  If
you can attend on Sunday contact my immediately.

BOTH projected host schools have fallen through.  If you would like to
host on the 21st please let me know.  I you can host I need to know how
many courts you can get.  Depending on the Region you might need 3, but
2 courts might be fine.  Please let me know as soon as you can!!!

Hi Ladies! We still need two teams to round up our benefit on February
28th. We are hoping to raise $1000 for Breast Cancer Awareness and we
need two more entries in order to reach our goal! We have teams from
Tennessee and Kentucky attending the benefit and we would love to show
them the best of the CWCVL!

We are also selling tshirts with the breast cancer ribbon and the
phrase "Fight Like A Girl" across the front. If you are interested in
ordering one of these tshirts, let me know. You don't have to come to
the tourney in order to get one. They're $10 and all proceeds go to
the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Let me know if you are interested! We'd love to see you all there.

Hey Ladies,

Listed below will be the court # that each of you are playing on:

Division 1:
Pool A -  court #9
Pool B - court #10
Pool C - court #11

Division 2:
will be played on courts #3 and #5, which is down one level from the
entrance.  There will be ncsu staff there to direct you. Look for the
NCSU staff wearing red polos with name tags and the club supervisors
wearing orange polos with name tags (these people are who you find if
there is an injury).

Hey Ladies,

I just posted a visiting team guide under the tab marked files on the
left. Please go to that file for information on directions, parking,
food, hotels, etc...

The gym will open at 7am, but I know it will take everyone time to get
there, especially those teams driving on the day of.

Captains meeting will be at 7:45am and Pool Play will begin at 8:00am.
5 courts will be used for pool play...There are 3 courts upstairs
(courts #9-11) and 2 courts down one level (courts #3 and #5). Once
Kevin sends out the pools, I will let you know what court you will be
playing on.

Parking will be limited after 8am on campus due to a highschool state
swim meet or something like that. So, to save yourself from a ticket,
look at the sign in front of your parking spot before parking.  The
Coliseum Deck will be open for free parking and it is close. It is on
the map that is under the visiting team guide.

Remember.  This is the "money pay out" tournament for the teams going
to Nationals in April.

Hi all! Appalachian State University will be hosting the Appalachian
Spring Invitational on February 28, 2009. We only have a couple spots
left in our tournament. We are hoping to have upwards of 20 teams in
order to get some good play going! Entry fees are $150 for the first
team and $100 for any additional team. Winner will receive all entry
fees paid to enter the tourney!

This tournament will also be sponsoring Relay for Life and a part of
tournament entry fees will be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness and
Research! Instead of tournament tshirts that we had planned to have in
the beginning, we will now have Pink Tshirts that say "Fight Like a
Girl" and all proceeds made from those tshirts will be donated to
Relay for Life.

Please help us make this a successful fundraiser towards cancer
research as well as a competitive and intense tournament.
