Well, here's the other side of it.
On the same day I agreed to be part of the series, Guy called me
back and asked if I'd change the date. San Francisco has an annual
event that is traditionally on July 4th weekend.
My conviction is this is a Divisional first and foremost. So
concerns within the division are a lot more important than outside.
But just as importantly I've agree to be a part of the series so
long as it doesn't materially interfere with what we are doing.
Changing the date to accommodate NorCal is what I'd call material
interference.
I didn't explicitly say no, but I told him highly doubtful we'd want
to move. As we've already invested 2 months on this, and most have
grown fond of the picked date.
My proposed stance is as such. We don't change anything important
to accommodate the series. If all races are ran as Divisionals, it
should be pretty simply for the series to work around the smaller
regional differences.
So, let me hear what everyone thinks.
