Chad Shanks at Buchanan Bicycles has come to us with a potential
frame deal from two companies.
We can get frames from either Cannondale or ORBEA. Not both. We
need a minimum order of 10 frames.
Cannondale is offering us a Six13 (Carbon/Aluminum) with fork and
the carbon cranks. We can get these in team colors.
ORBEA is offering us OPAL frames (all carbon) with fork.
The exact costs for the frames has not yet been set, but you can
expect to pay less than $1200. This is a great price.
The catch is we need to get this deal done quickly and we need to
order at least 10 frames before this can go through.
Therefore Chad is asking everyone to get together this Monday at
Coach's at 7 pm. This will not take the place of our usual meeting
wich will still occurr the Monday after.
If you have questions try to go by Buchanan's and talk with Chad or
call or email. I dont have much more info than that.
I am going to try and get a TEAM Resume put together. I would like to
ask everyone to please prepare a basic bio of your bicycle career and
bring it to the next meeting. We will also be taking pics of team
members at the training rides or where ever and have those added to the
web-site. I dont want much, just name, cat, USCF or NORBA, last years
racing results, and what you plan to do this year.
P
Pierce, let everyone know that the shorts
and bibs run a little large. Example, If the large LG shorts were a little big
you will want a medium in the Hincapie. I will email them today and see when
sample bibs and shorts will be coming.

Tour of Missouri promotes state cycling Yesterday, organizers
announced
that Missouri state will play host to the inaugural Tour of Missouri,
September 11 â€" 16, 2007. In its initial year, the Tour of Missouri
will be anointed one of the nation's top three stage races behind the
prestigious Tour of Georgia and Tour of California races, providing an
historic landmark for the sport with three major domestic stage races
on American soil.
The Tour of Missouri also has been slated as one of only five stage
races
in the newly-created USA Cycling ProTour, which will highlight the
top
multi-day races in America. The race, categorized by the UCI, is
sanctioned
by USA Cycling.
The inaugural tour will play host to up to 16 major professional
teams,
including some of Europe's top ProTour teams. Fred Rodriguez of the
Belgium-based Davitamon-Lotto team was in attendance and commented,
"The Tour of Missouri is situated perfectly for American domestic
teams
as well as top Americans who have raced much of the season in Europe.
For an American, having three major stages in the U.S. for the first
time is great news. ... The Tour of Missouri will provide a great
opportunity for Americans looking to prepare for the world
championships at the end of the season."
The mid-September date follows the USA championships in Greenville,
South
Carolina, and before the world championships.
The six-day race is expected to start in the western part of the state
around Kansas City and finish around St. Louis, according to race
organizers,
who will begin negotiating with potential start and finish cities
immediately.
The tour is expected to cover about 970 kilometers (or 600 miles) and
highlight urban as well as rural parts of the Missouri.
We are going to have a lot to talk about at the next meeting, be sure
to be there.
I hope to have the new jersey and shorts for everyone to see.
We will also be covering new 2007 racing season and what races we as a
team are going to try and hit.
We will also be talking about our race, expect great things.
As always, thanks to Coach's for the free pizza and beer. Plus,
everyone can drink beer now, its the off season.

Hey all
I found a link to a potential powermeter that is fairly affordable.
Dont know much of the specifics, but thought it has good features

The Fall Foliage Tour is going to be this Sunday, October 29. We'll be leaving from Reaves Park at 9:00 AM. Remember that Daylight Savings Time ends Saturday night/Sunday morning and set your clocks accordingly or you'll be waiting around an extra hour for everyone to show up!
The Tour will be about 45 miles, give or take. Tobin Vigil from Buchanan Bicycles and CRRC will be providing brats and drinks after the ride. Everyone is asked to please bring a side dish for this pot-luck lunch. I'll see you out there for the last hurrah of the season!
Also, for the more hardcore among you, there's going to be a pub crawl this Friday at 8:00 PM leaving from Pepe's. Good luck.
Aaron Smathers, Local Cat 1 racer, has obliged us with training plans and training regimens. He and I will be covering your basic training plan layouts, why we create training plans and how to use your HRM, Powermeter etc.
I will also debut our new jersey design at the next meeting. Thanks to Chris Porter for completing this. We will have gloves and arm warmers as well.
Reminder, I will discontinue messages by direct email at the end of the month (October). All pertinent info will be disseminated via the yahoo groups page. If you haven't joined yet please do so. Please make sure I know who you are when you apply.
As of today I have only received 4 orders for clothing. If everyone is waiting to see the new design please let me know. It will be different than last years. You must tell me (Tobin will not be taking orders at the shop) what you want. Either call or email me please.
Also, CRRC/Buchanan Bicycle winter training rides will start November 4th.
Please note that the Saturday ride does not consistently have a ride leader. We need to direct these rides and have a plan for training. Sunday, we will potentially have 2 rides. Vasiloff will be leading a 1 pm Sunday ride with specific training and team practice. Currently all rides are leaving from Buchanan's.

Anyone up for about 40-50 miles, moderate pace on Saturday? Meet at
Starbucks, leave at 9:00 AM. Should be back before the game traffic
starts.
From BLN yahoo group, should be a nice day for a ride.

We will have approximately 5 bikes that ORBEA will sell to team members at a discounted price. If you are interested in purchasing a bike please email me. if there are more than five members who want to purchase a bike the board members will have to make a decision on who gets one. the criteria will be who is current in dues, who is a uscf/norba licensed, who raced what and their overall contribution to the team.
We are not limited to certain bikes, ORBEA Mtn bikes are included.
If you are interested please let me know by the end of the year.

The new CRRC website is up and operational. Our address is http://www.crrcnorman.com/ It's pretty bare-bones at the moment, because I thought I'd have more time to work on it before the old site went inactive.
I can use everyone's help with this effort. First, if you see any problems with the site, let me know. Whether it's a broken link or a display problem, I appreciate the feedback. If there's some difficulty with how it displays on your computer, please include your OS and browser version.
Second, as you can see it's a little lacking in content at the moment. I'll be adding more over the next few days, but I can use input from you all on this, too. In particular, I need pictures from this season. However, I'm on the world's slowest dial-up, so please don't inundate me with a ton of pictures to sort. If you have some choice shots you want up, send me those and please include description, date, who's in it, etc.
I'll be looking at posting upcoming races, but that will be awhile off still.
We have sample clothing at Buchanan's. The were not able to send all the sizes for shorts or bibs, but you guys can take a guess from what is there. If you have any questions please forward them to me. Remember, orders are due November 17th.

We talked about it briefly.
The Sat/Sun rides will continue from Buchanan's at 10 am. I dont
know if anyone will be designated as ride leader.
We will start a Sunday West side ride at 1 pm from Starbucks. No
definite ride leader there either.
All rides are open, however, CRRC should be leading these rides and
dictating what type of ride it will be.
Just my 2 cents

Here is a estimated cost for clothing. I have had a chance to review the
jersey and I think it will look Awesome!!!!!! Final design will be done in
a few weeks and I hope to have a copy of it at the next meeting.
For now
Jersey Approx 64.00
Sleeveless Jersey Approx 62.00
LS Jersey Approx 72.00
Shorts Approx 58.00
Bib Shorts Approx 64.00
Arm Warmers Approx 30.00
Gloves Approx 29.00
Knee Warmers Approx 30.00 (solid color only) if we have enough it will be
red knee warmers
Tri Skinsuit Approx 105.00
Short Sleeve Skinsuit Approx 105.00
Wind Vest Approx 78.00
Polar Jacket Approx 130.00
Shoe covers Approx 34.00
These are approx prices and are subject to change based on the number of
each item ordered. We are ordering the full length zipper again.
All the items need a minumum order of 10 pieces, however approx prices are
in respect to estimated number of items we will get. If we get fewer than
my estimated number than items will be more expensive.
For women cut, we need a minumum of 10 jerseys and shorts ordered for them
to make it.
Everyone will want these jerseys. I really like them and hope that you will
too. I want everyone to be honest, yet really try to order these items (esp
arm warmers and gloves).
Everyone will need to pay at least 1/2 of the expected amount no later than
November 31st. Cash or check only. If you cant make the payment please
call or email me. Full payment is due once you pick up your clothing. You
will be expected to pay for all clothing ordered even if you dont want it.
If this goes well, then we will have our clothing by then end of January or
Early Feb.
