Steve,
I think your strategy is good but I have a couple of questions,
1. Do you think an average of 23-25 mph is really feasible for our group?! That
sounds just a tad swift to me for that ride. I think 21-23 mph might be more
reasonable if we all work well together and no one drops off.
2. 1-min pulls and progressing to a faster rotating echelon with constant
rotation sounds great but I think a good briefing before the start is essential
(so bring your clipboard so everyone, including me, is quite clear on the
procedure).
3. I take it that we should be there ready to warm up BEFORE the ride - is this
correct? - Or do you think we should spend the first 20 min riding at at 17-18
mph?

seniors. Steve I take it that you will be issuing the ride plan and instructions
regarding intended pace, water stop plan etc. i.e. Are going to stay together as
a team and take turns - the length/time of each pull being determined according
to each individual's own capablity on the day?

organized by Bill Wylie of OKC Velo. The distance from Yukon to the Trading Post
was 30 miles and the last 25% of the outbound leg was rather hilly with
gradients of 3 to 8%. However looking at the SYW route for the 100km ride
(starting approximatley 7 miles East of Yukon) it appears that the turnaround
point will be just short of the steepest hills near the Trading Post. The
remainder of the route is relatively flat with smooth roads (there was some road
work west of El reno that should be completed by now). Hope this helpd but chime
in if anyone has any better information.
