I borrowed (sp?) some guys blue park tool allen wrench doodad at the last race
on sunday. I didn't see you after the race although looked around for you. I
didnt want to leave it on the car. I have it, let me know if you want it back.
Some very generous friends of my family have given me permission to build dirt
jumps and other stuff on a piece of unused land at their house. So this is 100%
legal and will not be torn down. Here are the details
Who: Everyone that wants to build some super sick Dirt Jumps!
What: Inaugural Build Day
When: Sunday at 9:00 am
Where: Meet at Foothill Cyclery
Why: To build some sick jumps of course!
What to bring:
-A vehicle (rides will be organized at foothill)
-Tools (the more shovels the better… and anything you think might be useful)
-Food & Water ( plan on being out there most of the day)
- layers (it is supposed to be in the 60's)
Details:
Everyone will meet at Foothill Cyclery leave from there, stop at my house and
then follow me to Creston and the build spot. The drive is approximately 30
miles and take about 40 minutes to get there from SLO. It's raining so the
conditions are going to be excellent for building!
If you have any questions feel free email me.
GET EXCITED and RIDE YOUR BIKES

My roommate's road bike just got stolen a few hours ago tonight. I told him I'd
send an email to the Wheelmen with a description of it:
Older road bike (25 years old)
Blue frame, 52-54cm
Brand name "Guerciotti" in yellow on the downtube
Yellow grip tape with 2 rips on the right side
Black rear rim
Tour de France tires with yellow stripes on the outsides of them
Black, skinny "E3" racing seat
The bike was locked to the bike racks at Poly Canyon Village next to Aliso. It
belonged to his dad and has more sentimental value than anything else. If anyone
sees it around town/craigslist, etc shoot me an email. Thanks.

TRAIL WORKS this sunday 9am-12pm at Montana de Oro. There have been people who expressed interest in going, and now I need to find a driver to make it possible. The work isn't very hard, you get your voulnteer hours, and you meet nice people. PLEASE, let me know if you can drive. The wheelmen will not be compensating gas, but I am sure you can work it out with the passangers...MDO is about 15 mins from SLO.
I'll be riding Rock garden tonight before the meeting, and if you'd like to join
me, I'll be waiting at foothill until 6:30, leaving promptly thereafter.

The deadline for submission is the SundayOct 18th) night right before we come
back to classes from Thanksgiving...
As you are counting down the days until you can be home mooching yummy food it's time to think about those who will be going through the end of the year with much less. As wheelmen, we love most bike related events on and off campus, but I would love to see some more community involvement in other things that give back. I am looking for suggestions. The first thing that came to my mind is serving meals at the Prado homeless shelter (http://www.pradodaycenter.org/how-you-can-help.html), but I'm sending this email out to get more suggestions as to how the wheelmen can prove to the community that we do more than just ride bikes. Any volunteer activity, even outside of the holidays is great publicity for the wheelmen and supports goodwill. I want to hear about your suggestions or maybe volunteer work that you do.
So, I've got some people who want to help out, but you should too! The venue sets up around 9:30pm, and people will mill around until 12, when the run starts. The promoters would like to have some people ride bikes at the event just to make sure people are okay, and the like. So, if you would like to ride a bike with a bunch of runners, let me know. I suggest a proper working bike with lights and brakes that you don't mind riding around campus. Any questions, email me. Want to help, email me. See you there.

It's been beautiful these fall days, and if you're like me you've been outside all you can. Here is another opportunity for you to commune with nature and get some trails in tops riding shape: CCCMB will be have a trail works out on Montaña de Oro THIS (22nd) sunday from 9-12pm see the web link for the map on where to meet at the park http://www.cccmb.org/. I cannot attend this time and I would like to set up at least one car of people to carpool out there. One person has already expressed an interest in going. I work is not back breaking, the people are friendly and love to see new places, and if you want you can hike/bike the trail after the work. Plus...you get volunteer hours!
ALSO...tomorrow at 5:30pm-7:00pm at SLO Parks and Rec Office, 1341 Nipomo, I need a fill-in to attend the CCCMB meeting. It's painless and a good way to hear about the group's next plans for trails that they want to build or build-up. Please let me know if you can go. It will count as volunteer hours. You don't even need to attend it all, just make an appearence. This is for EVERYONE!
So, we were approached by the Midnight 5K Fun Run people to have a booth at their venue just to get our name out there. This is an opportunity to get volunteer hours, and help out. I'll have more specifics in a day or so, but it is on Thursday night, setting up around 10pm. Any questions, email or call me.
First I want to acknowledge everyone for a great performance this weekend at conference, it was a pleasure riding with you guys out there. It is unfortunately my last mountain season with wheelmen, but I will be coming back to race Norba as much as possible next year.
I realize Keith just put out an email for this weeks road rides, including a tomorrow morning Turri ride. I will be leading the same ride only at 11am leaving from foothill, and it will be an EASY pace, nothing crazy at all. Therefore, anyone who has never ridden before, this is another great chance to meet some guys on the team and learn some rides. Again, I will be leaving from Foothill at 11am, and will be back in time for class at 2pm. Everyone
should come out!
Iam leaving Monday afternoon (I get out at 12), and will be going to Oakland. Anyone in the area or on the way that wants to split gas money should let me know.
Hey everyone, looks like it'll be raining fire tonight again and it's supposed
to be a good one. the Leonids are coming to put on a show and I will be riding
to the top of Madonna to watch. Anyone want to join? I'll be at foothill at 12;
it'll be an easy pace and if you have a bright commuter light you should be fine
to ride.

The time has come. My beloved Fuji is going up for sale.
While not the lightest, stiffest, or sexiest, my Fuji has been an absolute workhorse for the past 4 years, and miraculously, has had no crashes, except for one very minor lay down that only scratched up the shift lever a bit (shown in photo). It has though been trained on and raced on consistently for those 4 years, so in my opinion would make for a perfect beginner's race bike or 2nd rain bike or really nice commuter or...??
Here are the specs:
Fuji Professional (aka "Team Issue") high modulus C7 Carbon 54cm seat c-c, 55.1cm top tube. This was also the first frame the Toyota United folks rode back in the day.
Alpha Q EX full carbon fork and steerer (this was just put on this summer because the stock Fuji fork was getting a bit soft for my peace of mind)
Full 7800 Dura Ace 10 speed, shifters, 53x39 cranks, derailleurs (brakes are 9 speed Dura Ace)
Bontrager Race X Lite wheels w/ Michelin Pro Race2 tires (these are the wheels I used only to race with)
Ultegra 12-25 cassette
Ritchey WCS 110mm aluminum stem
Ritchey WCS 42cm aluminum bars
Easton EC carbon (alu head) 27.2 seatpost
Selle Italia Signo saddle
Bontrager bottle cages
No pedals included
I'm sure I'm missing something so just email me. Asking $1000 or offer from Nexus, Wheelmen and locals before going up on Craigslist or eBay.
