for those of you in the north or east bay, or those of you wanting a different kind of race this summer, a local bike shop in fairfield is sponsoring weekly time trials on tuesdays starting about 6pm. the route starts out flat and heads into some rolling terrain before looping back, making a 15 mile course. they charge a $2 entry fee and they run several different categories and age groups. if you're interested you can call me at (707) 344-3891 or the shop itself at (707) 864-BIKE. i live about 2 miles from the start so i can house/feed/hangout with people before and after the race.
