I really don't think the club will spend anymore than £1.5m during January -
but as Brian says there are 7 games to go between now and then, but say we
are in the same position I wouldn't gamble any more than that. I'm sure the
club must have ran through the financial figures should we get relegated and
can then work out how much we could gamble. As sad as it sounds the signing
of players could all depend on the draw for the 3rd round of the cup -
should we draw Grimsby away we won't have any TV money to spend, should we
draw a big prem club away we might have more money available.

I would give very different financials on that Nick given the current market
has been relatively slow and there will be pent up demand from a raft of new
managers come January 1.

Option 1 £5-7 million

Option 2 £2-4 million

Option 3 £0-1 million

Option 2 includes the signing of Taylor - if we get him for less than £1
million then that is a blinding bit of business, and can Roeder negotiate
for me on my next house purchase please! To get two or three "quality"
players in we have to spend more than £2 million. I think there have been
hints there is this sort of cash to splash if needed.

3 options.....--.

Would you invest heavily in the playing squad in January to the point
whereby we risk going into receivership should we get relegated - after all
nothing is guaranteed by simply spending money the players could get injured
etc etc.

Or would you invest wisely giving a fair chance at survival knowing if the
worse happened we would still be in business next year.

Or not spend anything and hope we survive, but if we didn't we would have
money available to strengthen the team during the summer.

Without any insider knowledge I would guess for option 1 you would be
looking to spend in excess of £2m
for Option 2 around £1m
for Option 3 £0

I for one would be go for option 2 ?
