We've been saying it for a few weeks now, and hopefully we'll still
be saying it when Preston arrive, but tomorrow's match is a 'must
win'! The players know it, the manager knows it, and the fans know
it. Even Derby know it. Both sides will be desperate for the points,
and the game could be decided by which side calms their nerves
first... I'm not expecting it to be a great display of flowing
football, but so long as the players go out and give their all, we
can't complain.
Of course tha match is given added spice, if it were needed, by the
appointment of George Burley. Presumably Craig told the Derby board
that uncle George was unemployed and looking for a temp job! Or
perhaps the Derby board looked at our record against teams with new
managers and thought it was worth a try regardless! Let's face it,
Carlton Palmer even managed to beat us in his first week and his
Stockport side were absolutely awful!
That aside, a good result will really keep the pressure on Wolves,
Forest and Ipswich, and ensure that my holiday plans remain on hold
for a little while longer yet! If we don't make the play-offs, I want
to be abroad on the bank holiday Monday. If we do, I want to be in
Wales. No idea which to book yet though! MLS
