Hi Morgan:
Sorry I couldn't make it last Sunday, I work Sundays. Sounds like everyone had a good time, nice of you and DotT to set that up.

I saw a posting on the CG list about the guild participating in the Folkmoot, but hadn't seen anything about that on the Eq list.. what's the plan?

You might be wondering what the Cavalier Challenge is.  Well, it's meant to be a joint effort amongst rapier and equestrians, as well as baronies.  I found a ranch willing to host us, and they have loaner horses.  They are in Unser Hafen, but very close to Longmont.  The date open is May 20, 2007.

What are your thoughts?  Do we want to move forward on this?  Any ideas on courses, awards, demos, a theme, etc?  Who would like to be involved?  At this point we have the site, date, and loaner horses.  That's about it.  Unser Hafen will be involved in this as well.  I think it's a great chance to get to work with our neighbors in the north.

Do we want to move forward on this? I certianly hope so.
Any ideas on courses, Well, heads, reeds, rods, cow sticking (why use a pig?)  and we have been working on flag stuff at the ranch so some of that might be fun to.  Maybe a bridge....  so yeah a few ideas.  about how much room do we have for chalange courses and such?

awards, may one for each speed of course and one for the barony with the most "point" total for the day
demos, not sure on what kind might be appropriate
a theme, As a general rule, I tend to avoid themes some people don't have things that will fit the theme and that makes for akward situations.  Since Equestrian is so new (this time round) why don't we keep the "theme" equestrian and the wonderful world of horses?
Who would like to be involved?  Me!!! and Serina(my horse)
At this point we have the site, date, and loaner horses.  That's about it.  Unser Hafen will be involved in this as well.  I think it's a great chance to get to work with our neighbors in the north.

Hi Again,

Just some more quick updates;

Originally, when we concocted this Cavalier idea, I was planning on being here to help MK with the auto-cratting, since my mundane situation has changed, and in the spirit of fostering inter-baronial relations, I asked Ana the Terrible if she would co-autocrat with MK and she has accepted.

I was thinking that it might be a good idea to try and get us all together in January to put togther a master task list and get some volunteers for said tasks.

I would be happy to host such a gathering, but I live waaaayyyyy up in the mountains, and as such a trek would be inconveneint for most, feel that might not be best for location. Anyone out there feel like hosting a guild night so some of this prelim work can get done? For fun, I also have a great documentary I could bring for entertainment called, "American Jouster."

It might be a good time to target a fall date, if folks want to try and pull another event together for next year-I know the kingdom calender packs up right quick.

Thoughts? feelings? Questions? Comments? Feedback?

YIS,
Annaka

Also, has anyone done any research into other places where we could hold another event?  Any place with loaner horses?  If we want a fall event, we should try and get it on the calendar soon.

I won't be able to make the meeting on January 24th. If Sunday, Jan 14th would work for folks, I could make that date, if y'all don't mind changing it. If the change doesn't work, then just make do without me:-)

(I'm practicing my "y'all", might come in handy where I'm headed...)

Congrats on your AoA, Morgan, and you Ladies have fun with the Queen:-)

Thanks
