Many thanks to Lord Garin for coming over yesterday.  Between the two of us we had all the lumber and hardware that was needed to assemble a new piece of equipment for our guild:  A Double Quintain, also known as a Speed Quintain.  Photos:

 

 

This quintain has a target at the end of two arms, facing opposite directions.  So that riders can ride at each other - racing to hit their target first.  This is not only an entertaining exercise in itself, it is also a training step on the way to jousting.

 

We'll be putting this new quintain to the test at our Full Day Collegium this Saturday, June 20th!  If you haven't yet let me know that you are planning on attending, please do so.  Nesta and I need some notice of how many riders we'll have inorder to prepare.  The schedule and other info for the colleguim can be found here:
