Good Afternoon Everyone!!
I hope to find you all doing well. We are having a fun discussion on the KEO
list today. So I thought I would post a note about the discussion here for
everyone to see.. This is not yet in our rule book but I will add it during the
next revision.
Stallions -
Stallions will be marked with yellow ribbons. (or equivalent in yellow).
A yellow ribbon or equivalent can be placed on the front and back of saddle if
horse will not allow on bridle/tale).
Stallions are allowed to compete in all equestrian activities.
Stallion owners are required to maintain control of their stallion at all times.
If there are specific rules regarding stallions at an event/demo/practice/etc.
site the EqMIC must post notifications in the event announcements, e-mail lists,
etc.
There is no age requirement for stallion riders.
The following will not be in the rules but I want everyone to know how I feel
about this.
All equestrians are expected to take any precautions needed to assist the
stallion owner. Although the stallion is the responsibility of the owner.
Remember that you are responsible for your horse and it's actions.
Example: If your mare is in season and is upsetting the stallion please move
your mare away so that the owner can get control and settle the stallion.
Another rule to be inserted into regs:
Horses that Bite or Kick -
Horses known to bite shall be marked with a red ribbon (or equivalent in red) on
the bridle. (A red ribbon or equivalent can be placed on the front of saddle if
horse will not allow on bridle. A red ribbon or equivalent can also be placed in
the mane).
Horses known to Kick shall be marked with a red ribbon (or equivalent in red) on
the tale.(A red ribbon or equivalent can be placed on the back of saddle if
horse will not allow on tale).
Please feel free to email or call me with any questions you may have.

Is - KEO
