Two Unser Hafen events will have equestrian activities in the coming
months:
1) Glory War - 4th of July Weekend - Buford, Wyoming. This is a
rustic site and is suitable for horses and riders that like to trail
ride. Horse camping only for the experienced (no corrals - horses
must camp in portable corrals or at the trailer). Wind gets fierce
at times. Specific equestrian activities on Saturday July 5th
including some demos depending on who comes. I am going up to the
site this Saturday to do some scouting for the event. If you are
thinking about attending with your horses, please e-mail me. Go to
www.glorywar.org for more information.
2) Unser Hafen Equestrian Champions (Coursers & Quivers) on Sunday,
August 3rd - Berthoud, Colorado (about 30 minutes north of Denver
just off of !-25). This event is all about equestrian activities
and archery. Archery will be in the morning to give horses time to
practice. The equestrian activities will begin at around 1:00 p.m.
Lots of the traditional games - rings, heads, reeds, quintain, pig
sticking, etc. Also a parade and a roman drill demo (if we have a
chance to practice). There are overnight stalls available on site.
Go to http://www.unserhafen.org/ActivitiesPages/Champions2.html for
more information.
The next practice and chance for authorizations will be Sunday, July
20th at Mountain View Stables in Ft. Collins from 10 a.m. to Noon.
