We are going to have to cancel our race schedule for this weekend, as we were notified by the City of Milwaukie that the building owners electrical contractors never applied for their final inspection and therefore our building has been red-tagged and we can not open. Per our building owner this "problem" will be corrected on Monday and the inspection will be completed and our occupancy permit will be valid in time for next weeks racing. Our corrections have been completed per code and there should be no further delays.
We can't jeopordize our conditional use permit and need to comply with the City, as we have three years of racing ahead of us and closing for one weekend, while frustrating (ok, devasting) isn't worth the risk.
Head on down to Oasis BMX for an awesome weekend of racing, Saturday there's a single points, and Sunday is the State Championship Qualifier!
I just wanted to pass along, I have some cranks on ebay for sale. Its auction

I also have a Haro SX frame with "experience" thats for sale, not on ebay, for

very fast bike under its last rider... ;-)

This weekend is the revival of the track challenge that used to run at Rose City in Clackamas. This was always a lot of fun. Tracks put together teams and compete to take home the cup for this year. Next year the cup will come back to be won again.
Talk to folks at your home track and put together one or two teams. A rider can not ride for more than one track but may appear on both sheets for that track if on two bikes. Make sure that there is a spokesperson for the track so multiple teams are not being submitted. We are using regular ABA team sheet rules.

Subject:Grand Opening at Willamette Valley BMX Canceled
We are sorry to announce that we are canceling the Grand Opening of our new indoor track for this weekend (Jan 1 & 2). We don't feel the track is ready to be raced on and would offer the quality of racing that our BMX'ers are used to and deserve.
This decision was not an easy decision to make after all the hard work that's been done by everyone these past few weeks, however the extra time we will now have will allow us to finish 100% and we can open with a BANG.
If you are/have traveled in for the Redman Clinic and some indoor racing from another area, please head down to Oasis BMX and enjoy some great racing there. If you need information regarding the indoor in Eugene, don't hesitate to give me a call (503 519-1499) and I'll give you the information/directions you'll need to enjoy a great weekend of racing.
We apologize for this inconvience and can't wait to see everyone in two weeks! We will open January 16, 2005 (Friday) and will remain open for the next three years for some awesome year round racing!
See ya soon,
Barb

A huge thank you to families who shared their holiday weekend with us. There was some great racing and on Sunday we had a good time listening to the Grands broadcast and hearing some NW riders show folks how it is done :)
Here is our race schedule for the next three months -
December - 6, 7, 11, 12
Starting January 1, 2005 we will change our Sunday times to registration 9:00-10:30, racing at 11:00. Saturday times will remain 4:00-6:00, racing at 6:30.
January - 1, 2, 15-RFL, 16, 22, 23, 29-SCR, 30
February - 5, 6, 12, 13
Starting on January 1st we will begin running the Young and the Reckless Series. These races will run January 1, 2, 15 and 16. This will be a child/parent team series. On the first race of the series we will register teams of one parent/guardian rider and one child (17 & under) rider. Team members can be on either 20" or 24" but will stay the same for all four races. (A child/parent pair can submit more than one team but can only use each bike once.) We will award points for finishes and rider points and keep the best three scores. The team with the highest point total will win a prize.
January 22 & 23 will be the Oasis Cup Track Challenge. This two-day challenge will consist of tracks submitting one or two team sheets of riders who consider that their home track. The teams will follow standard ABA team sheet rules. A rider cannot be listed on the team for more than one track. Team sheets will be submitted before motos are posted and will remain the same for both days. The high scoring track will receive a trophy to display until next year when they will bring it back for the next challenge. A tag will be added to the trophy each year for the winning track.
This is a revival of the track challenge that ran for years out of a great track in Clackamas - Rose City BMX. It was a fun challenge and we hope there will be teams representing all tracks.
We will be scheduling a Media Challenge soon. This will be an event where local media personalities come out to find out what BMX is all about. I think I have a newspaper rider already lined up and am working some others. Stay tuned...
We are still waiting for scheduling to be confirmed for Winter Cup and will send that out as soon as we get it.
Please also stay tuned for the return of photographer Jon Meyers. I will be posting his schedule shortly. You can see the pictures he has taken at www.moonrayimaging.com
Caffiends will be returning this weekend with their usual yummy fare.
As always, thank you for racing with us and we welcome your input and comments.
Dani

Things will run pretty much the same as in past years with one exception. We will be running all TOTAL POINTS all the time. There are two main reasons for this change:
1. to allow newer riders to feel more a part of the program by always being able to run the final round
2. to help riders to become more competitive at large races and nationals by getting more time on the track with more riders
We put a lot of thought into making this change and we hope you will understand and like it. As always we welcome and encourage your comments and feedback on this or any other topic.
