Hi all ...anyone planning on going to the McCulley Farms ride in 3
weeks...5 of us are signed up and ready to go...we had a great time
there last year the food and the people are great...hope to see you

I'm signing up for the Obstacle ride at Lake Louisa this Saturday,
but I notice there is another "Poker" ride later this month at the
Horse Park.  I might try to make that one.  By the way....is it okay
to show one's ignorance by asking, "What's a Poker Ride???"  lol

Anyone going for the Poker Ride this Sat.?  Went to the Horses For
Hospice Ride in Ocala last Sat...Beautiful day for riding...good food
and great door prizes...the ride was approx. 3 hours...alot of money
waqs raised for a good cause.

my family is looking for a place to board our three horse in orlando
preferrably no further than 30 min from UCF. our horses are amazing
and would get along with all others. we also would like to find a
place with friendly people that we could get along with as well!!! we
like to trail ride--right now we ride on the florida trails--and we
also would like to get back into showing--jumping. if anyone knows of
anywhere great please let us know ASAP. we need full board for three
horses. we are also looking for someone to lease our thoroughbred
because his mom is away at school. more on that if your interested.

Can someone tell me the best seed to buy and when to seed for spring?
Any soil preparation tips would be helpful. I have nice brown soil
(not too sandy). Currently no grass. THANKS!

The Horses for Hospice will be held in Ocala on Feb.12th.. check out

There are two dump trucks, 1 bulldozer, 2 chainsaw wielding men and 2 Cats in my yard this week. I will not be able to make it!  Hope you guys have fun! Some one take a picture if you can. Look for my friend Leslie on a big Paint - she lives close to there!

Click on Photos and view the folder to see the pictures of our Lake
Louisa ride from Jan 15 05. Go ahead and add a currrent photo of
your horse in the Member Horse folder while you are there!

Even the dismal weather couldn't dampen how much fun I had on my
first ride with the Club this past Saturday! Everybody was so nice
and all the horses were very well mannered.  I look forward to the
next "Central Florida Horse Club ride and hope to get to know more
members even better.  (I'm trying to download pictures I took but
with my dial up, it's taking a while!)  Thanks, everybody, for making
me feel so welcome to this club!

yesterday (Sunday, 1-9-05), and that detour is definitely going to
still be there by Saturday's upcoming ride so remember to use the
detour.  Instead of turning left on Lake Nellie, you will go one mile
further and turn left on Green Swamp Road, and go till Green Swamp
Road curves to the right but you will continue going straight which
is Dwights Road.  Dwights Road will eventually turn into a clay road,
and dead end into Lake Nellie Road (clay road, also) which you will
make a left on, and go as far as you can where you will turn right

Doreen here. I am moving this coming Monday so I will not have
internet access from Monday till Friday the 14th. If you have any
questions about the trail ride on Saturday the 15th at Lake Louisa
that another member can't answer for you, you can call my cell at
407-340-8698.

Member Pam has been kind enough to keep track of the construction by
the entrance to Lake Louisa. She will try to post an update closer
to the ride date.
Here is the latest detour info:

Just a quick note to let you know that the detour on Lake Nellie
Road (the road that takes you to Lake Louisa State Park) is still in
effect.  The way into the park is going down 561 south, you pass
Lake Nellie Road (the road that leads to the park) and take the next
left which is probably about 1 mile down and is called Green Swamp
Road.  Take a left on Green Swamp Road and go all the way down till
it veers off to the right....but you want to stay STRAIGHT and that
road is called Dwights Road.  Dwights Road dead ends into Lake
Nellie Road and you make a left and it will take you to Lake Louisa
State Park.  (Dwights Road will turn into a clay road, and Lake
Nellie Road is also a clay road.)
