Friday's Rails to Trails Workday, December 7, 2007 -- 10:00 AM
meeting time
We will meet Friday at 10:00 AM where RTTS crosses Edgewater Avenue.
That is near Nobleton about 1/2 mile south of SR 476 and just before
Edgewater Road becomes Croom Nobleton road. We will park most of our
vehicles there and carpool to the first bench on the left (about 1/2
mile south). If you are a bit late in getting there, you may drive
on RTTs to the bench to join us.
Steve Stackhouse went out this morning with his chainsaw and cut up
all the large downed trees that we had marked with survey tape along
the RTTs from Edgewater crossing to Croom Road. I know that there
were at least 7 or 8 places, some with multiple trees. That was a
major undertaking and we really appreciate his efforts!!! The big
obstacles on that stretch are now cut up and other than moving them
off the trail we should have "clear sailing".
Steve has another priority commitment on Friday, but he is willing to
let us use his pole chain saw.
Please let me know if you are planning to help on Friday. And if you
have any special equipment such as pole chain saws, chain saws, etc.
please bring them. Loppers are always useful. And Gloves!!
Many thanks,
Kathy Thompson, FFBCH Treasurer
