Hello Everyone,

Some of you know me already from various activities, but for everyone else, I’m Duncan, and I just wanted to introduce myself in my new capacity, coordinating the Bicycle Commuter Contest for 2009. I know some of you have been involved with the BCC for many years, and I’m so glad you’re still involved! Thanks so much for all that previous work and energy, and thanks in advance for helping out again this year. I have participated and volunteered in the past with the BCC, and I’m really excited to have such an integral role in the event this year. It feels great to be a part of an event that effectively promotes something I believe in so strongly- the use of a simple but incredibly efficient machine that has so many benefits- The Bicycle!

I look forward to meeting and getting acquainted or reacquainted, and getting the BCC off to a great start. We’ll be having our first get together, a kick-off evening, this coming Tuesday evening- I hope you’ll come. If you do plan to come (or even if you know you won’t), it would be super-great if you could RSVP, so we know how many people to expect. Here are the details, as previously sent by Kris:

Where:            Fishbowl (upstairs)

What:              No host … order food and drink, whatever you’d like

What else:       Discuss and vote on a contest theme; sign up to help with the contest; share thoughts and ideas; socialize; have fun!
