Subject: Update on Pierce County Bike Map

We have entered the final stages of work on the new bike map.  We are field-verifying bikeways in a few cities and will likely be circulating the draft map to some cities for their final review and concurrence.   We are confident that the new bike map will now be completed by April in time for the Spring/Summer bicycling season.  Although we were hoping to complete the map by this past December, we feel that this extra time will allow us to make sure the new bike map includes the most updated and accurate bikeway information.  Please continue to check the Bicycling Web Page below for further updates:

For those of you who have not heard yet, Pierce County has initiated work on its Transportation Plan Update (TPU).  The TPU web page includes an online survey and an e-mail notification list for anyone who is interested in receiving notices about upcoming TPU meetings, events, and other milestones.  I encourage those of you who live or work in unincorporated Pierce County to complete the online survey so that we can receive your input on walking and biking conditions.
