Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, at 10, the House Judiciary Committee is
hearing the "It's a crime to kill a cyclist" legislation. This bill
expands the definition of "negligent driving" to include ANY accident in
which the driver violated a law and a person (i.e., including a
bicyclist or pedestrian) was seriously injured or killed.
David Hiller, from the Cascade Bicycle Club, asked me to round up at
least a few people who would come to the hearing room at 9:45, and sign
in to support the bill (not necessarily to testify). You don't even
have to stay for the hearing. It's just useful to have a few people
signed up in support, even if they check the "Don't wanna testify" box.
The bill is attached.
The hearing is at 10:00 A.M. in Senate Hearing Room 1.
Hope to see a few of you there.
