The second best is to drill 1/8" holes along the joint, NOT through
the shaft. You drill parallel to the centerline of the shaft with the
kicker snugged in place and and drive a spring-pin or hardened pin
in....Essentially this creates a "large spline" or "keyway" to prevent
the parts from rotating separately Two pins 180 apart will insure
this, but one will work..... I use a dremel tool with a cut-off wheel
to widen the slot in the kicker as well, so it can "pinch" closer
(tighter) before drilling the keyway
