Gentle Readers, I have been doing a little project of motor
deconstruction in hopes of learning something of the workings of this
engine. All has been going well until recently, when I found that
despite a service manual and a parts book, I am unable to remove the
clutch and oil filter cover, etc. I see only the one screw holding the
cover and rotor. I have removed the clutch springs, disks and set ring
and the basket is ready to slide off - but hits the rotor. I am
afraid to try to force it off, pry it off or smack it without being
certain of the proper method. I cannot get the cover off the rotor,
and I cannot pull the entire rotor off. Any suggestions? I'm about to
throw it in the car and haul it to Honda.
As promised, the second question is one of supply. Does anyone have a
set of valves for the 160? and an inner spring or 2? (I found one
broken spring, and a burnt valve.) Or can you point me to someone who
actually stocks them? I placed a $600 order Friday with a company who
on Monday told me they only had $15 worth of the parts in stock....
The third question is about jetting. If I boost the 160 to 182cc with
the available kits, will I have to re-jet? and what size jet will I need?
Thanks in advance.
Bill
