Re: oil, gas, bicycle computer

Dale,
For most applications I'd use Mobil 1, no it's not the best in the
world, but it's reasonably priced and of a consistant quality. For
really extreme applications where Mobil 1 is not handling the
heat...go with a Ester based synthetic like RedLine....I haven't been
able to destroy that stuff no matter what I do. About $7 a quart.

If you are racing at Loudon the best local source is the Honda
motorcycle dealership right down the road from the track. They stock
several different formulas and they are close by.

Typically the best local sources for VP is wherever the local stock
car guys get it. Depending on your area that can be a pain...won't go
into it, but the last time I got VP from a "local" source the
experience was a cross between "The Hills have Eyes"
and "Delieverance"...very weird.

The little bike computers work like a champ. Mine cost about $25. I
went overboard with the sensor mount, I made a two piece alloy clamp
that goes around the lower fork leg that accepts the sensor..and
machined a tiny mount for the trigger that bolts to the brake hub via
tiny 4mm machine screws. Course...epoxy would work well for
the...trigger..and the rubber band mount that comes with the sensor
can sometimes be used. I can post pics if you want...but unless you
have a machine shop and lots of spare time they probably won't be of
much use :)
