Nah...any synthetic is better than pure dino....in these engines. The
motorcycle specific oils have some better additives for the gearbox,
and usually no friction modifiers that make the clutch act funny. So
it's a good thing. But usually the motorcycle specific oils are quite
expensive......although the race synthetics run $8-10 a quart.
I can live without the gearbox additives because I change the oil
every race meet and the long chain synthetic polymers don't have time
to get chopped up in the gearbox. Motocycle specific oils usually have
some heavy metal additives (zinc or something) to lube the contact
patch on gear teeth.
I'd say the Pennzoil is a decent choice. I choose oil specifically to
lube the top end of my engine which has got some serious work done to
it, sometimes to the detrement of other engine components like the
gearbox or clutch. But since I've never seen a 175 gearbox break...and
clutches are cheap to replace, I'd rather keep the top end alive.
Stock cams and springs don't need quite the level of lubrication that
a modified top end would need.
