My 74 Cl 200 has a drum that is smaller than the 160. It is a better front end than the 160. I have used an ex250 front and the RS125 front end with good results.
John I sent out a 175 this week that was making 21 HP with very little tuning. I think with a few days on the dyno I can get 32 HP or more out of it. I think I will keep at it untill I can get 36HP. I am doing more race prep and motors these days with the financial pinch. Got to keep the baby fed. I hope you are well.

No, all CB200's had the mechanical disc as far as I know, so you have to adapt the drum, which is very simple to do. You can use the extra lug on the left leg to bolt the torque arm on and that is pretty much it. For an extra bit of flash, you can cut the handlebar mounts off the top triple clamp and sand it smooth, then polish it, and it looks like a factory clip=on smooth triple clamp. Pretty cool!TimO

Is there a specific year to get in order to keep the drum brake?

modifications. It has more modern damping design, so it works. It has
a pinch style top triple clamp, so it eliminates about 99% of the
twisting flex you get in a non pinch clamp style design (like the
stock 160 or 175). As a side benefit, it is about 3/4" longer than
the stock Vert forks, so it gives you a small increase in ground
cleance, which is a major issue on a CB/CL vert framed bike.
