Back working on my CD175 and CA95 after a bout with Lyme diease (not recommeded) no more yard work for me.
New questions:
1.) Anybody have any or a source for the 3 odd Honda screws for the petcock on my CA95? They appear to 5mm x 22mm with a .9mm pitch and everything I find is a .8mm pitch.
2.) I am going to pop off the head from my CD 175 with 100 psig compression measure the stock head gasket and order a thiner one Does any one know the stock thickness and what would they recommend as a minimum for copper?
3.) Same question for the cyclinder base gasket, the stock thickness is?
4.) My CA95 tank and petcock are pretty rusty, I have done a lot of cleaning, purging etc. Anybody have one for sale?
5.) Best source for new tires and tubes for the stock 16" wheels for street riding and the fall Giro?
The people making the Woodstock movie want to use it if I can get my bikes reliable enough. Any others want to rent/lend your bikes?
My 1969 CD175 has low cranking compression (75-80 psig) before and after a valve job and new rings. During the leak down test indicated only 2-4 percent loss...
Would be interesting to see what you could do with stock pistons and compression. I've spent about $4000 in piston R&D to come up with about 10:1+ oversize...
CD is single carb with no provision as I remember to fit a dual carb set up so the head is either CB160 or CB175/200. I spent about $4.00 on piston research,...
C70 pistons are of course out of the questions, being WAY too small in bore and have the wrong size wrist pin. C90 pistons (50mm) bore are still 2mm smaller...
\> > CD is single carb with no provision as I remember to fit a dual carb ... The CD combustion chamber <should> be the same shape as the CB/CL 175, all three...
Thanks for the great details on your race engines. Do you have a source for the copper head and base gaskets? My inclination is to tear in back down CC head...
Hi MT - The gaskets come from Copper Gaskets Unlimited in Arizona. Contact details are on the suppliers page of www.groupwracing.com (one of my horribly ...
It's not necessarily clear from that statement that I mean the sloper pistons (product code 235) go with sloper heads, and vert pistons (product code 313) go...
Michael, I've got a friend on this group ( BFD ) who turned me on to checking valve to piston by using a dial indicator and assembly with very weak valve...
... That is what I do - I use carburetor springs in place of the valve springs, assemble everything, set the lash and cam timing, then manually push the valve...

MT, Stock CB/CD/CL175 headgasket thickness is .052". Think real hard before you reduce the thickness on a stock engine. Any gain you make in compression ( hp )...
