To start with... Im 41 years old and have never had a problem with
allergies! But dad gum it! They beating on me like the devil himself
is behind it! Now to address Freds question....
Fred,
After some very serious discussions. The CAC has decided to have the
weekday event for a few reasons. Let me explain,
The Cauliflower Alley Club was originally just for People in the
business. Be it active or retired. So with this in mind, the CAC
decided to try a weekday reunion. So the workers that are usually
booked on the weekend could have the chance to attend the reunion
without loosing a booking. Alot of the members (workers and fans)
Often make this a vacation anyways. Even before I was elected to the
BOD,we would arrive on a Tuesday and stay till the following
Tuesday.
Now that I am on the BOD. I still have to arrive a few days before
and
stay a few days after. As I found out real quick, the work load to
pull this reunion off is greater than I ever imagined.
President Nick Bockwinkel's objective is to make the reunion
affordable to all of the members and at the same time get workers
(both retired and active) more involved with the CAC. Might I also
add, the roomrates are much cheaper. This being the fact it is in
June
and it is a weekday event.
We are also getting much more room than we have ever had. The
Riviera
this year also realized that many of the CAC members have a fun time
gambling. So they have agreed to also give the CAC credit for the
Players Club members that book rooms through the players club. This
is
the first time I have ever heard of a Casino doing this. This
probably
means very little to most people . But the contract the CAC has with
the Riviera is some what complicated with different structures. If
these different structures of the contract are not met, the CAC has
to pay the difference.
All though it is still a good ways out and I cannot discuss names.
You will be suprised at some of the first timers that will be
attending. President Bockwinkel has many things in store for this
coming year. And this will be made public as the reunions gets
closer.
We do realize some will not be able to attend. But at the same time
they will be many first timers attending. This is looking to be a
very
exciting reunion. I just hate it is so far away!
Hope your able to attend!

> I did have a question tho, I see on the website that the CAC2008
will be held on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday?? I may have missed
that discussion, but won't a weekday only reunion make it difficult
for some people to attend?
