Hi friends! Just wanted to drop a quick note that I went back to my
old stomping grounds of Packerland Pro Wrestling this past Saturday
night as they had a show in Menasha, WI. I haven't worked with my old
boss/trainer Chris Bassett since 1999, but we have a good rapport where
he welcomes me to the events he still runs from time to time.
I brought several info packets with some details of the CAC reunion for
2007, as well as membership and banquet ticket order blanks. The show
was booked with some notable names: Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner,
Terry Taylor and Larry Zbyszko were on the card, and some others like
Tough Tom of the Disorderly Conduct tag team and many up-and-coming
talents.
Zbyszko's sporting a new hairstyle which he's quite proud of. He
mentioned he was invited to attend CAC a few years ago by the great Lou
Thesz, but his schedule didn't allow for it. He plans to look ahead on
the calendar to see if he can make it in '07. He's enjoying the
golfing and warm weather of Orlando, Florida these days and bristled at
the 40 degree Wisconsin temperatures.
Terry Taylor has had his neck fused and is looking down the road to hip
and knee replacements, but looks much younger than his 51 years would
indicate. He had a lot of constructive criticism for the younger
wrestlers and encouraged them to think about the insane bumps that
they're taking now.
Tough Tom is going solo mostly these days as his partner Mean Mike is
in Florida these days, but he's truly an all-purpose guy that can help
improve any show or organization.
Each of the wrestlers I spoke to were very much aware of the CAC as an
entity; hopefully by seeing some of the activities and contemporaries
they would see at a reunion will encourage them to join and attend at
some point.
