Mansfield Town, who had hoped to sign Jon Fortune
during the past two seasons, have wished the player well
since signing a new Addicks contract. <br> Fortune had
two highly successful loan spells at Field Mill last
season and the season before but, when The Stags tried
to make the move permanent, Alan Curbishley said he
wanted to keep him. <br> The young defender has now
signed a new three-and-a-half year deal after some solid
displays for the first team this season. Nevertheless,
Third Division Mansfield are happy the player has
established himself with a Premiership team. <br>"Fair play
to Jon, he got in their team and has done well,"
said Mansfield assistant boss Stuart Watkiss. <br>"We
all wish him well and you never know when our paths
will cross again - maybe later in the FA
Cup?"<br><br>©teamtalk
