I am trying to figure out why my last five e-mails from our "Bucs"

us to chat or take body enchancements or something. Wish these people
would find another venue to advertise their crap, this is NOT a "pick-
up" joint nor the personal ads... (I wish there was a way to send them
elsewhere.)
Did you see that Garcia was the # 1 QB heading into training camp?
Didn't we know that was going to happen? He will probably the starting
QB this season. Think it was Gruden's plan all along. ( I am not
complaining though.)
Did you see that Moore is retiring after all these years? Think that he
has the record for playing (starting?) in the most games for the Bucs.
Is this true?
The Season is not too far away...so glad.

well i was amazed this week when the bucs released quarles, according to NFL network he failed his physical does anyone have any details ?
also on nfl network they are saying detroit has no less than 6 teams trying to trade up and take the number 2 spot depending on who the raiders take at number one, so the chances of us getting calvin johnson are starting to look slim.
and man .. a huge bonus to us having jeff garcia on the team, his wife! Carmella Decesare (see attached file) with any luck at all they will show her in the stands 20 times a game like they used to with kurt warners wife, if the Gods are paying attention give me just one game with her in a bucs jersey please!
ive got my plans set to watch the draft hope we all have a great day come saturday!
i think the best opcion is to send plummer away.it is shame to ask a player to play in our team.so I really don't want to see plummer with the Buc;s jersey at all.
Simms keep playing hurt and that means that he cares our bucs colors.

trading simms, i just dont see that happening. simms showed me his heart last year, how many times while gradkowski was starting was i screaming for someone who could make an accurate deep throw to galloway when he was wide open! the most logical trade is rice and the
number 4 pick for the number 2 pick
rice had 2 sacks and 14 tackles last year, there are a ton of DE's worth looking at in the draft this year and rice has been in the league 12 years and he lost a lot when we lost sapp, with noone double teaming warren rice can't get to the qb
if we want to trade a qb, trade rattay, or gradkowski we have 6 qb's on this roster including plummer who needs to show up or pay the buc's 7 million dollars. also the nfl has noticed that plummer hasnt offically put in his retirement paperwork. so maybe a trade involving plummers contract may be possible.i would love to see that.
sorry i just dont see simms going away.

considering the absolute hatred the raiders fans have for the broncos, and broncos players i don't know. that would be a great draft for all around actually because most likely quinn or russell will be there at #4 especially with us picking johnson at number 1. they could pick up a future qb while having an experienced qb to start with the arm to throw to randy moss, and porter.
and yeah i know we are talking about something that will probably never happen but, i would be a huge fan of that trade. who wouldnt?

Simms and #4 for #1 sounds good to me, we get CJ AND get rid of the Statue, the Raiders get the guy with the Rocket arm that they want. Win win!

Of all of the scenarios floating around,
Simms and the #4 to Oakland for the #1 seems to make the most sense for
both teams. However, Gruden's recent use of the shotgun says he may
be more willing to make concessions for Simms in his schemes. The
best possible scenario for us, with Johnson, would be if we kept Simms.
CJ appears to be a monster in the deep zones and that's Chris' specialty.
It was interesting that Gruden ran Johnson through private drills
with Simms, Clayton and Boston. It says that he wanted to see him
run some specific patterns and suggests that he may want CJ as his #1 receiver
and try to further protect Galloway from wear and tear by bringing him
in on passing downs. Can you imagine Galloway -- still running sub-4.4s
-- coming in as a 3rd receiver on passing downs? Scary! I could
see some merit to the scenarios where we swap the 4th and some more stuff
for the 2nd with Detroit -- just not as much stuff as folks are talking
about.
Stay tuned...

I agree, I think that these are just smokescreen rumors going around. If the Bucs really, really want Calvin Johnson trading up to number 2 doesn't make any sense until they know who the raiders are going to pick. I'm also not too sure it makes sense to trade a proven veteran, at a position you need for a guy who may make 10 catches a game.

I suspect that, for the most part, these rumors are just that -- rumors. The biggest problem here wth all of this posturing is that Calvin Johnson -- the only player anyone would make a trade to go up for in this draft -- is still only just a receiver. As great as he may be, there's not a single play in your book that he initiates. He's still a luxury that you can't afford until you have the QB and O-line positions squared away. If you don't have anyone to get the ball to him and people to block for that QB, a Calvin Johnson is about as useful as a hood ornament. The only teams in the top 5 with anything going for themselves at QB are ourselves and the Cardinals. I feel confident in saying that we're in a better position than the Cards as far as our O-line is concerned. Now, as far as the Raiders, the Lions and the Browns are concerned; they're picking 1, 2, and 3 because they foolishly all passed
on Leinart last year. If they have information the rest of us don't have (and know that Quinn -- who is the top QB in the draft despite what you hear -- and Russell are going to be busts) and pass on these QBs then so be it. But if your QBs are nobody (Oakland), Jon Kitna (Detroit) and Charlie Frye (Cleveland) and you somehow decide that you don't need a QB then you ought to be fired if you're the GM. Old Man Davis is getting senile but he isn't dead yet and he knows he has to come out of this with a QB of some kind. Russell's big arm may remind him of LaMonica but I think he's an idiot if he doesn't take Quinn. That's what makes Detroit's pick so interesting. Taking the other QB would make a lot of sense so Millen probably won't do it. If he doesn't take a QB then taking either Joe Thomas or Adrian Peterson to give Kitna some help would make the most sense to me. The same goes for Cleveland. I just don't see Oakland,
Detroit or Cleveland being solid enough under center to draft a kid who's going to rely on the QB to make plays. Now, if all three of these teams pass on the QBs I suspect that we'll trade down (with someone like Minnesota or Miami who would love to get one of these QBs) with an eye towards someone like Louisville DT Amobi Okoye and extra picks. If not, then I think we'd probably stay where we are and draft either Johnson, Thomas or Peterson (in that order).

i was just brought up on local radio here that a possible trade with
the Detroit Lions is in the works to switch 1st round draft spots.
the lions would also get Simeon Rice.
i'm not sure how i feel about that possibility.
we'll see in a week.
If they can secure the services of a
QB, then taking Johnson make EXTREME sense because he's the best talent
on the board. The chances, IMO, of Johnson sliding to us at #4 is
slim and none (and slim don't look so good). If we really want him,
we'd have to go up and get him. At the end of the day, I think the
chances are good that we will be using that pick on someone like OT Joe
Thomas or a top D-lineman like Adams, Anderson or Okoye IMO.

not we will be able to get Calvin Johnson. Everything I hear keeps
coming back to the raiders taking him first overall even though that
would be really stupid for them but hey, they are the Raiders.
Once this time of year rolls around I don't believe anything I hear from NFL teams (or so-call insiders). The next actual fact will come when the new commish announces the 1st pick. All the teams are posturing. I still think the Raiders will pick a QB.

Sure, you're in a great position to
go and experience a little of it. From White Plains you take, what?,
the 6?, and you're there. You get in free so what have you lost?
A little time? The NFL probably does a lot more now than they
did 21 years ago to entertain and inform the crowd between selections.
Those first few picks are going to take about an hour (with each
team having 15 minutes on the clock). I expect it to be slow in the
beginning because Oakland, Detroit and Cleveland should get a lot of calls
for their picks. Of course, the Bucs could ruin your timetable by
trading down also. The excitement, if we use pick #4, could come
if we don't do what everyone expects us to. Everyone has us taking
Calvin Johnson if he's there or even trading up (we've talked about the
scenarios here also) to get him. When it's all said and done I wouldn't
be shocked if they took someone else and left Johnson there. Of the
guys at the top of the board, I think they'd take Joe Thomas over Johnson
if they're both there. But, even looking at the guys pegged a little
lower down, I'd expect there to be discussions in the room about Amobi
Okoye when we're on the clock. He's the only one-gap guy I see who
looks like he could come in an anchor a Tampa-2 defense (and our staff
fell in love with him at the Senior Bowl, making him one of their captains).
It's definitely still a "made for
TV" event though. :-)
