You're right on this. There r lots of guys who have the physical skills who can't play the game. And most of the QB busts r 3-year college QB's. Frankly, I thought the Lions & Jets were also unwise to select a 3-year QB.
Mauluga went l8, so the teams must know something about him that we don't. I wanted Vernon Davis (CB to replace Rhonde Barber) or Jerry Peria DT. Apparently the Bucs were going to take Davis if they missed their QB. They felt that Peria didn't fit into their new defense.
With our tough schedule & the starting of all the young players, it's hard for me 2c us more than 6-10 this upcoming season, possibly 5-11 since we didn't improve at CB- I think Davis will b a great one in this league.

IIRC Ryan was a 5-year college QB, who had a great running game in Atlanta. Flacco was a 5-year college QB, w/the best 'D' in football on the Ravens. That is y they were such unique successes, as rookies in the NFL.
This kid won't even start. He is totally raw & will need a ton of coaching. We already have a project QB but that was Gruden's guy & this is Morris' guy, so that kid is probably gone.
Morris says he is the franchise QB of the future, while McCown will start now. I doubt that very much but hope I'm wrong. He has the physical skills of Randall Cunningham who was league MVP twice. Lets just hope the kid gets good enough 2b a solid starting QB for the next 10 years & is not a bust.
