Hi Everyone,
Next weekend, March 7-8, I'm hosting a swim clinic here in Brooklyn
with Michael Sabala and Rebecca Richards (bios below). There are 10
Brooklyn Tri Club slots available for anyone (beginner to
college/pro) wanting to dramatically improve their swim stroke. The
weekend will include in-depth instruction in the areas listed and you
will receive underwater video analysis of your stroke. The hours are
~8-6pm Saturday and 8-230pm Sunday. You may attend for one day only
if that's the time you have available. The cost has been reduced for
Brooklyn Tri Club members and is $99. Send an email to me at
john@... if you would like to register.
Freestyle Swimming (with video examples)
How the stroke works, how it is taught, and how you can swim it
better. There will be several approaches since there is more than one
way to teach this stroke. We'll present drills and drill progressions
and how we've seen them work in practice over the years.
Evaluation Session (video review)
Have your swim stroke evaluated by our coaches and practice what you
learn.
Coached Workout
Get in the pool for a workout. Try your hand at new swim sets and a
variety of intensities. Receive instruction on recommended drills and
progressions.
Swim Training Program and Workout Design
Work with clinic experts and other coaches to create programs and
workouts for several different ability levels. Learn what works best
and why.
Open Water Racing
Proven techniques from open water experts.

Subject: [Brooklyn_Triathlon _Club] 2009 uniforms order coming soon
Dear All:
Tom and I are heading up the uniform order for 2009. We should be working out the figures this week, and get back to you with estimated prices and timeline. It is usually $50 a piece for a top and bottom. We also have leftovers from last year, so email me if you are interested.
We would like to get a sense of how many members are interested in buying a uniform for the 2009 season, so shoot me an email if you are.
Tod did you ever think you won't be laughed at, but an inspiration. Cause I bet
you look really great running in a thong. :-)

Guys,
As many BTC members can personally attest, even if you are the sole slowpoke of the group, it is ok. When our workouts are open to everyone, that's what we mean. If there are certain speed requirements, then those requirements are posted. If you're an 11 minute miler running with 8 minute milers, no one will begrudge your presence. In fact, the workout leader expects slower folks and will wait for you (so don't take off without telling anyone!). At the Tuesday night runs not everyone runs the same pace, so the fast folks won't have their workouts affected by your pace. So please, no more talk about being slow and 'is it ok to come out if you're slow.' Just come out! The only reason people will laugh at you is if you show up in some kind of Borat thong or something.
(In my opinion, running 10 minute miles isn't slow. And the Tuesday night runs will make you faster.)

Will there be any 10-ish min milers out there tonight? I'd really like to go, but don't want to hold people back!
Hey folks, loosen up your legs after a weekend of racing and training with a good old fashioned friendly group run.
We are meeting at 7pm inside the Grand Army Plaza entrance in the grassy triangle.
We had a stellar group of 12 people last week including some new faces. The conversation was just delightful...highlighted by a heated negotiation between Amy Roth and Lauren regarding Amy's rarely used but much loved green Felt road bike. O' the suspense....
Hi Quinn - I'm a 10 min. Miler but can't make it tbught. Maybe next week. - Cindy
