Blow off some steam before the week gets too hectic and join other
Brooklyn triathletes at The Gate this Sunday night, from 7 to 9 PM.
Come and find out what the BTC has in store for the season, reconnect
with old training pals, end enjoy one of the best selections of beer
in the City. As always, we will raffle off fabulous prizes. At our
last event some lucky folks walked away with a heart rate monitor,
bike computer, aero bars, and even handlebars. No joke!
Look for club members wearing their Brooklyn Tri Club uniform tops
and you'll know you've found the right place.
Where: The Gate
321 5th Ave Brooklyn
When: Sunday, April 2, 2006 7 PM
Directions: Between 3rd Street and 4th Street Directions: F at 4th
Ave; R at Union St.
Note that though The Gate does not serve food, they have no problem
with patrons receiving deliveries of food.
Another option if you are willing to go to Crown Heights and can go later in the morning is the St. John's Public Recreation Center. The pool is clean, locker rooms and showers are ok, and there is always enough space for laps. They open at 8 on most days. I think the cost is around $10/year.

Hi, sorry to get back to you that late. I go to the Monday & Wed. morning Master classes that started recently. At that time, 6:30 am, the Master class takes three lanes, so it is very crowded, sometimes there is even another class in another lane. I just wanted to formally thank George and Ali of City Tri for organizing this mornings warm up race for the Duathlon. They provided course markers, timing, race numbers, gatorade and moral support for the athletes participating in the event. Also, special thanks to David, Leann and Len for showing up to help out, you were all great helps.
We are hoping to have another training event of this sort sometime in late April, so stay posted for updates on that. City Tri is organizing a few events in Prospect Park and abroad this season, be sure to check them out at www.citytri.com

This is just a reminder about the Prospect Park Duathlon training event that's taking place this Saturday Morning at 8am. The event is a non formal 3/12/3 (run/bike/run) duathlon, with timing, transition, etc. If you don't feel that you're prepared to cover that distance, don't fret, this is a practice event to see where your fitness is at this point of the season. For those of you new to multisport racing, this is a great way to see just how painful it is to run after biking! More information about the event can be found in the 'files' section of
our Yahoo! group. Here is a link to there: http://f6.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/cGYhRLePlz_4msa1I20zqLH_p3kPhYm3t_nfec6_1CgXB4NEdI5uCqrsLVCtk2gOJ_a2sIdHXrFZgPAi-8q_ew/ppdu_back.doc
The transition area (start and finish as well) is going to be at the Willink entrance to the park, which is the entrance sort of across the roadway from the boathouse about a half mile from the base of the hill when traveling in the park against traffic. There are bathrooms very close to this
entrance. The event will be supported by City Tri (www.citytri.com) with timing, some volunteers, running route arrows, Gatorade, etc. We are in need of some volunteers to help out for this event, if you're available please let me know. Volunteers are mainly needed to help things get underway and make sure that everyone participating in the event is well supported. Volunteers are asked to report at 7am at the Willink entrance to prepare for the event. Participants are asked to report no later than 7:30 to ensure that the event goes off promptly at 8.
If you have any questions, or if I've forgotten something (which I'm sure I have) please ask!

there are 4 spots left in jon cane's computrainer class tomorrow. and i know that *no one* signed up last week! which is crazy, because i know its just not that warm out yet, people. come get in a workout before the training duathlon on saturday.
Don't be a fool! Save the evening of Sunday, April 2nd for another
fabulous Brooklyn Tri Club Social event. More details to come.
BTW, the BTC Social Committee is always looking for new folks to plan
events. That's because currently the Social Committee has one member,
me, and it's hard to plan multiple events when I only have two hands
and barely one brain. Email me at emilynyc at gmail dot com if you're
interested in helping out.
More information about the event can be found in the 'files' section of our Yahoo! group. Here is a link to there: http://f6.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/cGYhRLePlz_4msa1I20zqLH_p3kPhYm3t_nfec6_1CgXB4NEdI5uCqrsLVCtk2gOJ_a2sIdHXrFZgPAi-8q_ew/ppdu_back.doc
The transition area (start and finish as well) is going to be at the Willink entrance to the park, which is the entrance sort of across the roadway from the boathouse about a half mile from the base of the hill when traveling in the park against traffic. There are bathrooms very close to this entrance. The event will be supported by City Tri (www.citytri.com) with timing, some volunteers, running route arrows, Gatorade, etc. We are in need of some volunteers to help out for this event, if you're available please let me know. Volunteers are mainly needed to help things get underway and make sure that everyone participating
in the event is well supported. Volunteers are asked to report at 7am at the Willink entrance to prepare for the event. Participants are asked to report no later than 7:30 to ensure that the event goes off promptly at 8.
If you have any questions, or if I've forgotten something (which I'm sure I have) please ask!
All the best,
Jonathan

Hi Phil,
On a kind of random note I was wondering if you knew
anything about renting bike boxes. I am doing the tri
in St. Croix and need to get my bike there and though
I remebered you sending an e-mail about the boxes at
some point. Any info. you have would be great.
