Although the MIMS is a bit intimidating for me personally, I would like
to do some open water 1-2mi swims during the season.

The Manhattan Island Foundation http://www.swimnyc.org/ organizes a
number of city swims that are shorter than MIMS. It would be great to
see a BrooklynTri presence at some of those.

The site describes the MIMS (and all of the other swims they organize)
for those of you who may not know what everyone has been talking about.

I think you can also do that manhattan island swim as a relay race. Unfortunately, it's the day before the NYC tri this year, so that rules out many of us...

Yes - there are relay teams ... but, I believe registration is already closed. World class swimmers come from around the globe to swim around Manhattan - 28.5...

By the way, Irina did more laps than anyone, men or women, at the indoor tri a the Y. As far as the relay team goes, I think it's a great idea and the race...

We can also put together a few swims down at Coney Island - no organized stuff, but it's great to get a group together & head down for some open water...

Amanda, When it gets warmer - I do swims at Coney Island. I ride my bike from Park Slope along Shore Road to CI - park my bike at one of the lifeguard chairs ...
