Brent and I want to do a tempo-pace run in the park on Saturday, about 2 loops
at about 6:30-ish pace. We've both run the Brooklyn 1/2 too often to need the
touring practice. We'll be going to the usual 15th St. 9 am meeting spot.

Sara:
I'd be interested in doing tomorrow's run with you. I come from south of the
park, so here's my suggestion: Let's both enter the park at 5:15, and I'll run
uphill toward our usual meeting place while you run in the usual direction
(which is downhill) toward me. We should meet up in less than 5 minutes. I'll be
wearing a bright yellow warmup jacket, for clear visibility.
Let me know if this plan works for you.

I'll be starting a 4-loop Prospect Park run at 5:15 tomorrow, timed to meet up
with the rest of the gang at the normal spot and time for the final loop. Would
anyone like to join?
Also, Elias was talking about doing a practice Brooklyn 1/2 from Coney Island on
Saturday. Are other folks interested? I'd like to start from Coney Island at
9, so leave from the F 15th St. station at about 8:15. Does this time work for
folks? (I could do earlier but not much later).
Also, for anyone interested in some long tempo work in
preparation for the upcoming Brooklyn Half Marathon,
John and I are planning on doing TWO loops of the park
at Half Marathon pace next Saturday, March 4th. We'll
meet at the "normal" place at 9 AM and go from there.
Maybe on the second loop we can mimic the end of the
Brooklyn half by doing both transverses...
Those wishing to do "speed work" are welcome to run
with John and I, and those wishing to run slower may
(of course) still do so.
Elias and I hope to see some of you tomorrow (Sunday)
morning - we missed you at the race today! I think
our team placed 4th in the B division, 12th overall.

Hello team,
Brent & I are running tomorrow. We're meeting same
place as usual on weekends, just a little later.
10:00am instead of 9:00, in case any others want to
sleep in and join us for the later run.

I've posted it to our BrooklynRoadRunners mailing list. It's free to join the list if you wish.
Everyone with sports injuries, please read on. From the runs, it sounds like many of us should read it :)
Also, we'll be out running in the park at 6pm today. I'll stop at 9th st at 6:45pm to meet any of the regular crowd.
Also, It's a beautiful day so get out there!!! and remember Felipe (the running god) Vergara will be out there, so you should be too.

Mike: you need to have registered as "Brooklyn Road Runners" in December OR add
it in person when you pick up your number this week. Ask those giving out the
numbers what you must do to include the team designation.
If you register online and click on the team, it will electronically "remember"
the team if you click YES on "remember the values", blah, blah.

Yes, many of us are. It's the first scored team race of the season, so if you
run it, make sure to fill out the TEAM section with "Brooklyn Road Runners" (or
click on it if you enter online).

Yeah it was a really nice race. We should all thanks the Prospect Park Track Club and Slope Sports owner for all their work.

Okay so...after the race I noticed this huge bruise basically covering my entire armpit and radiating out. It looks gross but there's no pain at all. My right shoulder has been giving me pain, but this was on the left. Anybody know what's up with this?

I'll be there- and will do my best to not be late.

I’ll probably be late to the Tuesday run. Lemme know if people plan to cover it.
So we agreed today to show up tomorrow for if the race happens. If not,
we go for a fun run. If the snowstorm is too heavy, we'll have a
snowball fight.

Great question, Catharine. I just spoke to Steve
Bonal, our club president and the race organizer. If
there is a lot of snow and it's not plowed by the park
service, then the race will be cancelled.
Unfortunately, we won't know that until Sunday
morning.
My advice: show up at Circles Restaurant Sunday
morning. If the race is on, you can run it. If not,
go for a fun-run in the snow with the rest of the
racers that are bound to show up. I know I'll be
there regarless.
Happy running,
Brent
