The first team race of the season is next Sunday. We will be gathering at Circles (15th & Prospect Park West) at 8:30 to 8:45 am to carpool. So far we have 2 cars, those of Steve Bonal (8:45 am, 917-238-9447) and Noah Isenberg (8:30 am, 917-689-6453). Steve can fit 4 more people and Noah can fit 3.
If anyone else can drive, we could probably use a 3rd car.
Let the group know if:
you are running and need a ride or
you are running and can drive.
Can someone who is on the Yahoo group keep track of the matchup between cars and riders? I cannot, but I can keep track of the responses to this email & coordinate with the Yahoo group coordinator.
If no one volunteers for this task, it'll be first-come, first-serve, and if we're full up, people will have to take the subway, and it's not an especially convenient route.
If any of you guys hate having to run over walkers then by no means run the AHA Wall Street Run. I ran it last year and for the first 5 minutes I had to run through walkers. That one is a huge mess nowadays.

Yes, exactly.
Only, in reality, not everyone is as nice/honorable as you and they line up as close to the start as possible, regardless of actual expected pace. Which means you have to trample over little kids/walkers at the start of every race. Uggg!

Subject: Al Gordon Snowflake 4 Mile Race Update-PLEASE READ To:
Dear Club Council Team/Club Reps,
Traditionally, the NYRR Al Gordon Snowflake 4-Mile serves as our first
team points race of the calendar year. This year, due to inclement weather and
unsafe conditions in Central Park, the Al
Gordon Snowflake has been designated a fun run. The distance (4
miles) and course (Central Park inner loop
starting and finishing on 102nd
Street Transverse) remain unchanged.
Men and women will start
together at 9:30 a.m.; there will not be a separate men's start at 8:00 a.m.
The race will not be scored and will not be a team points race for NYRR.
Registered entrants will receive credit for one of the nine races that
are part of the eligibility requirements for guaranteed entry to the ING New
York City Marathon 2009. If a runner has registered, he/she does not need
to pick up registration materials or run the race in order to receive credit.
Registration will be open on site at NYRR at 9 East 89th Street until 7:00 p.m. Friday
and from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. Saturday.
ChampionChips will not be used for the fun run. Runners who
have already picked up their chips must return them to NYRR within 20 days or
they will be charged $35. A chip collection site will be made available at the
Volunteer Check-In Tent located on the 102nd Street East Drive
entrance ramp.
All entrants who had registered by 7:00 p.m. on Thursday will receive
an e-mail detailing the above information. The updates have also been posted at
www.nyrr.org.
Because 11 team points races remain on the 2008 calendar, we will not
designate a replacement points race for this year; the 2008 team points totals
will be based on the results of the remaining races.
We thank you for your support of the Al Gordon Snowflake 4-Mile, for
your understanding and patience as we make these adjustments, and for your
assistance in communicating these messages to your teams/clubs.
Sincerely,

Sorry for the flood of e-mails. Just a note that since tomorrow is not

Happy sledding.

My Dear Friend,
Please permit me to introduce my humble self to you. I am Mr. Paul Hamey the Director of International Relation with a prime bank here in London. I got your email address on the Chambers of Commerce address list and my confidence reposed on you to contact you. I hope you read this message carefully and reply me immediately, although we have not met before but I suggest that this transaction will bring us together.
In one of our periodic auditing we discovered a dormant account with holding balance of 26,000,000 (Twenty Six Million British Pounds) which has not been operated for the past Four years. From my investigations and confirmations as the Director of International Relation, the owner of this account, a foreigner by name Mr. Chris Marco died of cancer of the brain in 17 May, 2004 and since then nobody has done anything as regards the claiming of this money because he has no family members who are aware of the existence of neither the account nor the funds.
I have secretly discussed this matter with a top official of Her Majesty Treasury here and we have agreed to find a reliable foreign partner to deal with us, although due to his position he did not want to take active part but as soon as you follow my instructions everything will be successful because we will be working hand in hand with him. We thus propose to do business with you, standing in as the next of kin of these funds from the deceased and after due legal processes have been followed the fund will be released to your account without delay and we will use it for investment and to assist the less privileged in the society because if we left the fund with the government it will be fortified for nothing and will be used to suppress the poor masses in the society.
This transaction is totally free of risk and troubles as the fund is legitimate and does not originate from drug, money laundry, terrorism or any other illegal act. Finally, I will give you 40% for your cooperation while 60% will be for me. On receipt of your response I will furnish you with detailed clarification as it relates to this mutual benefit transaction.
You should send me your account information as states below where you like the money to be transferred so that I can send application for the release of the fund immediately with your account information. Even an empty account is ok.

Bank's address.......
A/C No...............

How far are you from Ocean Parkway? That's a good place to run when you feel it's too late to do Prospect Park.

Hi!
I just started running last week and I am already addicted!
During the week I can only run at night (between 9:30 & 11), so doing
the PPark loop isn't available. I ran along 5th ave. from Warren St to
50th St and back but that wasn't very pleasant -- crowded in many
places and some desolate areas.
Does anyone have any advice as to where I can run at night?
Thanks!
