All,
Time to pick the Sunday Ride. It's also the weekend of the Community
Classic. I was thinking
Estes Park might be nice. Any other ideas let me know, otherwise I will
just put Estes on the calendar.
Also Velocal.org has a new feature to allow sending email to the group.
From the calendar, go to the
"about" section and scroll down until you see the "Send email to group
link".... Just another option
besides using the Yahoo address, but not everyone is on both lists.
FYI,
-Steve
All,
Seth and I are planning on leaving our house at 4a. for the E-Rock ride. We
have room for 6 more people. If anyone is interested in joining us send me
an e-mail at wrbird@....
Wayne

I'm with Dave, I'm going to skip the MOther's day crowd on Sunday (and
celebrate it Saturday instead). I would like to do a Sunday ride,
either MTB or road. I wouldn't mind heading up towards Estes, or MTB
some interesting trail (such as Bobcat Ridge exploration?? Blue Sky
extended??).

Add my vote to the list of interested riders for Evans...probably more
as a fun club ride than a race (been there, done that many years ago,
so I would hate to embarass myself at this age). July???

If you don't get any takers for Saturday, I might be interested for Sunday (no Mother's Day plans other than a phone call to Mom -- I'm flying out for her surprise birthday party later this year). My interest will depend on what Steve and Ron have planned for Sunday, but I definitely need a longer ride Sunday. I'm going Hiking with the Philosophy Department on Saturday, so that day's not open for me, but as I say, I might be interested in going on Sunday.

Soapstone Prairie MTB tour
City of Fort
Collins is offering mountain bike tours of the new
Soapstone Prairie open space on June 23 and Sept 8. I spoke to the
city, and I believe the June 23 trip is pretty full. In any case,
it's not a good day for me. I'd like to do the Sept 8 tour. Does
anyone want to join me?

Yes. Alread signed up. Maybe as soon as it opens if not draining off depending on weather? I know another rider chomping at the bit. I would prefer a Saturday most likely though fwiw.

A few weeks ago, I asked if anyone was interested in a ride to Rock
Cut on June 17. It looks like Trail Ridge Road will be under
construction this summer (http://www.9news.com/news/local/
article.aspx?storyid=69325), and one of my neighbors works for
Larimer County in the Roads and Bridges department. He says that
there will be lots of chip-seal work and sealcoat work in and around
Estes Park this summer.
We may still be able to do Rock Cut, but if not, I'm contemplating
riding to Cameron Pass as an alternative.

Hi Steve,
Just an FYI, Colorado Marathon tomorrow starts at 6:15
or 6:30am and goes down the Poudre for 17 miles...I
think it's a 6-hr cutoff but anyway the Poudre/Laporte
area could be clogged til 10 or 11am.
Cheers,
mah

All,
Looks like with all of the rain a MTB ride is definitely out. Weather
Permitting lets
meet at the FCHS and decide from those who show up. I was thinking
that Rist
might be a good ride. Maybe even go down to the Poudre from Stove
Prairie and
back up and either return Via Rist or do masonville or whatever. Just a
thought.
I'll post an 8:00 ride on VeloCal and we will just have to hope the
weather is OK.
We could even Join Gale... Any other thoughts? Let's hear-em.

Elephane Rock Ride anyone?
Is anyone tentatively planning to do this one? The event is
posted on velocal including registration info. It takes place on Sunday, June
3rd.
Thank you,

All,
I was thinking that a MTB ride might be in order. Something longish.
Thinking about
Pineridge..... Maxwelll..... Over to Lowry..... Up towers road. back
down .... etc.
Thoughts? Otherwise I am up for any kinda ride, but something different
would be nice
and with the cooler temps predicted for Sunday a MTB might just fill the
bill.

Here's a crude map. The route from the last time we did Poudre Canyon
is in red. The two options are in green. Either option adds about 16
miles. The Eden Valley option adds about 800 feet of climbing, and
the Centennial option adds about 1200 feet of climbing.
