OD,
Both holes and the path looked great yesterday during an impromptu round I
was able to get in.
A litterbug had temporarily tarnished some of your work, but was quickly
remedied as I walked.

Thanks to all the player who participated in the CTPs at the tournament. We
raised $60 from the 50/50 CTP on BW hole #1 and $230 at the QC CTP held during
lunch and at the end of the second round.
The BWCC kicked in another $110 donation on top of the $290 for a total of $400
to the American Cancer Society. I will use this donation for our team at the
Relay for Life in July.
We have been participating at the Relay for Life the past few years in memory of
my sister who lost her four year battle with cancer three years ago. My dad was
happy to donate his time to make the wooden disc awards, and I hope we can make
this an annual event.
Thanks to all who participated and great job Chas as the TD.
Lynn
I believe it was the #7 basket that we were going to move the long position that
the lock needs sprayed? Did anyone remember to do that?
Beyond that, with some regular maintenance, the course should play wellfor
'Palooza.

Please plan to park at the water tower for the foreseeable future when attending
Sunday events at the Quake.
We have seven weekends to spruce up the course for Llamapalooza and I don't mean
to start applying pressure to volunteer some time, but for those who do come out
early in the morning to do some work on the course, it will be easier to
transition from work to play if everyone is present up at the shed rather than
someone either having to wait at the bulletin board for any late-comers or
actually hiking down and back up to pass on the word. Please pass-it-on.
Seriously, only seven weekends remain though,......
I'm looking to improve my game and was wondering if any one would mind playing a
round or two. I know most will probably recommend attending tags, etc. but my
schedule doesn't always allow that. I'm able to play most Tues, Wed and some
Fridays in the morning and/or afternoon.
I usually play @ Creekside or Codorus, but I think playing at Pinchot will
improve my game faster. I'm driving 280-300' average on an open shot, but not
consistent...especially on the gravel tees. Sometimes I can rip it longer,
other times shorter.
I have other seasoned Orions that will fill the slot. Just not one that looked
as cool. It shouldn't make a difference, but for some reason it does.

Spectacular weather for disc golfing today. Only 6 tag members took advantage of the experience. Only one player kept the same tag (with a tie). No aces were thrown. The acepot grew by $4.00. Ken mounted a cork board and the scorecard holder on the shed. Looks great, Ken. He plans to install a Lost & Found box in the window area. that will be very useful.

This is my money driver. I forced it over off the tee and it went sailing into
the trees on the right side of the fairway. It "appeared" to drop about 1/2
down the fairway as if it was swatted by a tree, but it was hard to tell. I
looked for an hour with no luck other than scraped shins and probably some

The disc is a sunburst dye with orange-ish color in the middle to blue on the
edges. It does have my phone number on the inner rim.
If anyone picks this up I'd appreciate getting it back and will make it worth
your while.
Not just James, but I feel it is important for everyone to be as versitile as possible. I ddon't fancy myself an expert at playing well, but I have been in the shule in several states, and courses.
I was talking with OD about this and sometimes, because of a tree, rock, bush, or angry locals...you are forced into a flick, backhand, roller, etc. And because it's not your preferred shot, you lose all confidence before the disc even comes out of your bag. If this is the case, you've already lost.
I remember Paul at creekside prepping pawpaw virgins by making them throw every shit a roller, although few had even tried to roll before.
Try to think of all the golfers who are just as lethal with a flick or backhand not only off the tee, but just in general. (phil excluded)
What I'm getting at, is just because you have a bread and butter throw...the course may have a surprise for your next shot, and you may be forced into a different throw. So practice!

In regards to your backhand. If you are flipping them over coming out of your hand work on after your release to keep your thrwoing hand facing palm down. When I flip my wrist up and point my thumb in the air after the throw it will flip to the right on me. I started to work on Palm down and it took care of most of that.

Sounds like a "flick" or forehand is your primary drive off the tee? My advice would be to give up the forehand as your primary shot. Go out to a soccer field and practice your backhand.
I have been going to the PDGA Pro Worlds almost every year since 2002 and virtually no one uses a flick shots as their primary drive. While nearly all skilled disc golfers throw a forehand on occasion when the hole or shot demands it, they don't use it as their drive of choice. Thanks for all 94 players who came out and braved a combination of crazy, wet,
windy, foggy weather. Thanks to those who helped prep the courses. And the
biggest thanks to tournament director Mike Solt for the tons of work he did in
organizing the event, securing sponsors, added cash, a GREAT player's party, and
all the other little things that go unnoticed.
Thanks to Andrew "Big Dog" Sweeton & Bob Ziade for their help as an assistant
TDs. Thanks also to Jeff "Crawdaddy" Manatt, Ray "R-Man" Rogers, and Eric
Eichhorst for helping with scorecards. Thanks also to Alan Mindas and all the
other grunts who did things like picking up CTP's and tee/hole sponsor signs
after the event.

Have you tried laying off it a little, or flicking a driver with some touch? I use a star Monster for many approaches.. Just find a disc that does what you want and throw it with the right speed. You'll be hard pressed to find a very overstable approach disc. A drone is as good as it gets.

I need some disc selection suggestion. I am looking for a VERY overstable mid range. The reason is that some of the shots that I throw with my Flick driver were going long at the GPC. I need a midrange that can handle what my Flick handles. Is there anything that fits this criteria. The only midrange I carry is a Wasp and it can't quite handle that drive. Thanks!
