hi ladies! just wondering if anyone was running in lowell for the marathon or 1/2 this sunday and would be interested in carpooling? i have a car and am leaving from somerville and currently am going on my own and would love the company! let me know.
Hi running friends, October is a wonderful month to run outside- crisp air and beautiful foliage! We hope you'll come enjoy this great running weather with us!
We also have few schedule changes to let you know about for our October runs:
(1) Unfortunately, it has started getting dark earlier. Therefore, we've opted to start our Wednesday night runs a little earlier this month. Please join us at Memorial Drive and Massachusetts Avenue (in front of MIT) at 6:00 PM this month. Please try to be on time as we'll need to head out right at 6:00 to avoid running in the dark.
(2) We will be holding our last Wednesday night run on October 21st. After that, it will be too dark to run along the river safely. We'll miss seeing you all on Wednesdays, but hope you'll join us for other events throughout the fall/winter. We've got a Yoga for Runners clinic, a running brunch, and other events in the works, so look for announcements from this group or on Facebook. You can also check out our website, bostonlunachix.com for upcoming events and read our blog about what the Chix have been up to. And feel free to use this group to find a running partner to keep you running throughout the winter!
(3) Since we're holding our last run in a few weeks, we've opted to move our post-run social to October 21st (meaning no post-run social on Oct 7th). We hope that if you've run with us at all this season, or even if you've only seen us at an event, you'll come join us for some celebration of a wonderful season! Location is TBD, we'll send out an email closer to the date.
(4) Lastly, I want to say a big THANK YOU to our team and our honorary team members (that's you!). We've had a wonderful running season with a lot of new and returning runners. We are thrilled to provide a forum for women to get out there and play and even make some new friends. So a big thanks to all of you for making this season a success!

Skirt Sports (Triks) sponsors 5K races across the country where women racers
start first, in a "Catch Me" wave, and then men begin the race three minutes
later, in the "SkirtChaser" wave. Silly but fun.
In deciding where to hold races next year, they've set up an online poll.
Nominating a city is as simple as clicking a few buttons. Go to
http://www.skirtchaser5k.com/city-vote.cfm and choose from the list of competing
cities (which includes Boston).
If you're interested in bringing another 5K to Beantown, please vote by October
15.

I learned a lot about myself when I was diagnosed with cancer.
I was going through each day pretending I was happy. Then when I learned I
might not be around forever, I took a hard look at that. I had been fooling
me. Now was the time to face it and fix it. What did I have to lose?
My cancer was in stage three; but I survived, stronger than before. It has
been a TRIP and I have learned some things I think others would like
to know and maybe benefit from.
Today I am well AND happy. What a blessing. I am in touch with a lot of
other breast cancer patients and we each have valuable information that couldn't
be told by just the doctors. We want to share our secrets and stories of what
worked and what didn't.
I would love for you to visit this site when you
have a minute. www.tittatts.com, Together we can make life better for the next one.

Thank you for opening this mail. It is gracious of you to care and we are anxious to share. Since one of each eight women are expected now to have breast cancer in their lifetime, nearly every family is touched.
For you or your loved one, visit www.tittatts.com and find helpful hints and hope. Over 80% of those diagnosed with this disease survive. We try to make the journey less painful and more hopeful. Little things you might not have been told or might not understand are explained in plain language by the survivors. The language is more light hearted and the message is serious.
Hi running friends,
Unfortunately, mother nature is not cooperating with us and it is just too
miserable out to have our group run tonight. Of course, if you are brave, feel
free to run on your own! We'll be moving the post-run social to next week as
well.
We hope to see you next week (and hope for better weather)!

Hello running friends,
Just a friendly reminder to join us on the
river this Wednesday evening for our weekly run! We'll head out from
the corner of Mass Ave and Memorial Drive at 6:30pm. They're
predicting thunderstorms as a possibility on Wednesday, so as a reminder,
we run in rain but thunderstorms cancel. We'll post a notice to the
email board by 4:30pm if the run is canceled.
Also, since this
is the first Wednesday of the month, we'll be heading out for some food
and drinks afterward. This month we'll be heading to Bhindi Bazaar for
some yummy Indian food.
Even if you can't make the run, feel free to join us after! Hope to see you
Wednesday!
