Hi ladies,

It's hard to believe May is here already! After our weekly run on the Charles
tomorrow at 6:30 (see our website www.bostonlunachix.com for more info), we're
hoping to carry on our new tradition of getting together for a post-run
beer/food after the first run of each month.

So tomorrow, we'll be headed to Crossroads Pub (495 Beacon St; right where
Beacon meets Mass Ave) after our usual run. Please remember to bring some cash
(or card) and your id if you plan to join us! And if you can't make the run feel
free to stop in and join us for a drink!

Rumor (aka weather.com) has it that the rain will clear out of here by mid-day
tomorrow so I hope to see many of you out on the Charles! We plan to run rain or
shine, but will send a message out to this board by 4:30 tomorrow if we have to
cancel because of thunder storms!

Best,
Kelli

Hi running friends,
Thanks to all who made it out to Wednesday's run on the Charles. We Just wanted to remind everyone that the Luna Chix Run Team will NOT be meeting up for a run this Wednesday because of LUNAFEST!

Lunafest is a great night of films with all proceeds benefiting the Breast Cancer Fund and the EllieFund. For more info, check out www.tinyurl.com/lunafest2009. And, if you haven't already, make sure to get your tickets early for a $5 discount on the at-door price -http://www.elliefund.org/lunafest09

We'll be back on the river for our regular runs starting again on April 22nd.

Hope to see many of you soon!

Hi everyone! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone tonight at 6:30 for our
first of many fun Wednesday nights. The plan is to do our loop around the
Charles River, and then walk on down to the Asgard on Mass Ave. for some food
and drinks. Can't wait to catch up with everyone, and to meet some new friends!

Hi ladies,
As a reminder, our first WEDNESDAY NIGHT RUN of the
season will be TOMORROW, April 8. We will be meeting by the Mass Ave Bridge on
the Cambridge side of the river at 6:30pm. All levels are welcome! For more
information and a map, please check out our website - www.bostonlunachix. com.
It looks like tomorrow will be beautiful and sunny, but just in case, our rain
policy is that thunderstorms cancel the run, otherwise, we'll be there! We will
email a notice to this list by 4:30pm if the run is cancelled.

We will be taking a break from the weekly runs on April 15 for a great event for
two great charities. LUNAFEST is an annual film festival with films by, for and
about women. This year we will be watching these
films in style at the Hard Rock Cafe. Tickets include a pre-screening reception
with drinks and appetizers. The event will also include a silent auction and
raffle to benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and the EllieFund. For more information
and to purchase tickets, please visit http://www.elliefun d.org/lunafest09.

those of you on Facebook, we've created a Boston LUNAChix Running Team

Brunch IS ON regardless of the weather. We can decide about running when people
get here, but we all should eat some yummy food anyway. :) /C

Hi Linda,

I'm running Covered Bridges as well, it will be my 2nd half marathon.
It should be a lot of fun, I've heard a lot of great things about it.
I'd be interested in running a race with you beforehand to prepare.
Let me know if you want some company! I'm having a hard time
motivating myself to run outside in this weather!

Best,

Hi, Linda.

Not super close, but there's a 15k in Upton in April.  Upton's a little past Hopkinton, so a little under an hour from Boston.

http://tinyurl.com/abghcz

And there's an annual 12k in Bedford NH in May... but that's a little more than an hour drive and mid-May might cut into your taper.  If you're interested in that one, email me... I know I got an notice about it, just need to dig through my email.

Happy training!

Hello Ladies--
Fun was had at the Luna Chix Run Brunch Jan 25th hosted by Annie and I hope you are ready for some more. I am writing to invite you to the next brunch (to be preceded by some running) which I will be hosting in Belmont, Sunday, March 1st at 10 am.

This is a fun way to keep in touch and keep active during the winter until our weekly Wed. runs around the Charles starting at the Harvard Bridge (near MIT) begin again in April.

Friends and brunch items are welcome. If you're interested and would like more details, email me at ccchurchwell@ yahoo.com.

Hi all,
As we often hand out samples of Clif and Luna products at our events and we know many of you are very fond of Clif/Luna products, we feel it is important to pass along this safety information to you. See below for a full explanation, list of products affected, and contact information to learn more about the recall.

-Annie
Boston LunaChix

As many of you may have already heard, the FDA is investigating a
Salmonella outbreak tied to peanut butter from the Peanut Corporation
of America (PCA). PCA is a manufacturer and supplier of peanut
butter for many food companies and manufacturers. For a limited time
in 2008, Clif used PCA peanut butter in some of our products.

In light of this investigation, and with an abundance of caution,
Clif Bar & Company has enacted a voluntary recall of 14 of thier
products, containing peanut butter in the U.S. and Canada (please see
the complete list below).

Clif is taking these steps because, as a food company, consumer safety
is our top priority. As part of our journey to do better every day,
we feel strongly that issuing a voluntary recall is the right thing
to do.

PCA, not Clif Bar & Company, is the focus of an investigation by the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) concerning the Salmonella
outbreak thought to be caused by tainted peanut butter. We urge
everyone to destroy any of our recalled products to ensure no one
mistakenly eats them.

To check if products you have are part of our voluntary recall,
please see below for a list of our recalled items containing peanut
butter. If the product you have on hand is any of the products
listed AND has a best by/sell by date that matches that on the list,
we urge you to destroy it and any of our recalled products to ensure

Hi, Ladies.

A friend of mine asked if I could spread the word and I thought some of you might be interested or may know someone who is.

Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis is looking for a few more runners for their charity numbers to run the Boston Marathon.  To qualify for the number, you don't have to be located in the Boston area or have an MS connection. You just have to be able to physically finish the marathon within 6 hours, and there is a required fundraising component (that ACP will help you to achieve).

Members of their team enjoy:

Race-quality team shirts
Pasta party for your family and friends on April 19th
Ability to customize your own runner web page with your bio, progress updates, and pictures - your supporters can donate directly on your page
Our own training director is available via email and phone!

For more information about our nonprofit, visit the Accelerated Cure Project website at www.acceleratedcure.org,

If you're interested or want to find out more, shoot me an email.

Thanks!

Hi all,
As we often hand out samples of Clif and Luna products at our events and we know
many of you are very fond of Clif/Luna products, we feel it is important to pass
along this safety information to you. See below for a full explanation, list of
products affected, and contact information to learn more about the recall.

To check if products you have are part of our voluntary recall,
please see below for a list of our recalled items containing peanut
butter. If the product you have on hand is any of the products
listed AND has a best by/sell by date that matches that on the list,
we urge you to destroy it and any of our recalled products to ensure
no one mistakenly eats them.

Please know that no other Clif Bar & Company products or flavors are
included in this recall. As you know, we have many other products,
and you can safely enjoy our other peanut butter and non-peanut
butter products safely that are not on the recall list.

Additional details can be found at www.clifbar. com. If you have any
further questions, you may contact Clif Bar & Company at 1-800-

Hi all,
Just a reminder that we're having a run and brunch this Sunday.  The weather forecast says it will be clear and cold (20s), so let's hope that stays. We will hold this brunch if it is snowing, but if the City of Boston is in a snow emergency, it is cancelled.  We will also post up a notice on our website (bostonlunachix.com) Sunday morning if it is cancelled.

Hope to see you Sunday!
