Hello Ladies--
Fun was had at the Luna Chix Run Brunch Jan 25th hosted by Annie and I hope you
are ready for some more. I am writing to invite you to the next brunch (to be
preceded by some running) which I will be hosting in Belmont, Sunday, March 1st
at 10 am.

I live less than 2 miles from the Charles River path at Watertown Square. It is
an easy bus ride here. Routes of various lengths will be mapped out according
to terrain conditions that week so you'll have choices of where to run. This is
a fun way to keep in touch and keep active during the winter until our weekly
Wed. runs around the Charles starting at the Harvard Bridge (near MIT) begin
again in April.

Friends and brunch items are welcome. If you're interested and would like more
details, email me at ccchurchwell@....

Looking forward to seeing you.
Cheers,
Cynthia

Hi all,
As we often hand out samples of Clif and Luna products at our events and we know many of you are very fond of Clif/Luna products, we feel it is important to pass along this safety information to you. See below for a full explanation, list of products affected, and contact information to learn more about the recall.

As many of you may have already heard, the FDA is investigating a
Salmonella outbreak tied to peanut butter from the Peanut Corporation
of America (PCA). PCA is a manufacturer and supplier of peanut
butter for many food companies and manufacturers. For a limited time
in 2008, Clif used PCA peanut butter in some of our products.

In light of this investigation, and with an abundance of caution,
Clif Bar & Company has enacted a voluntary recall of 14 of thier
products, containing peanut butter in the U.S. and Canada (please see
the complete list below).

Clif is taking these steps because, as a food company, consumer safety
is our top priority. As part of our journey to do better every day,
we feel strongly that issuing a voluntary recall is the right thing
to do.

PCA, not Clif Bar & Company, is the focus of an investigation by the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) concerning the Salmonella
outbreak thought to be caused by tainted peanut butter. We urge
everyone to destroy any of our recalled products to ensure no one
mistakenly eats them.

To check if products you have are part of our voluntary recall,
please see below for a list of our recalled items containing peanut
butter. If the product you have on hand is any of the products
listed AND has a best by/sell by date that matches that on the list,
we urge you to destroy it and any of our recalled products to ensure
no one mistakenly eats them.

Please know that no other Clif Bar & Company products or flavors are
included in this recall. As you know, we have many other products,
and you can safely enjoy our other peanut butter and non-peanut
butter products safely that are not on the recall list.

Additional details can be found at www.clifbar. com. If you have any
further questions, you may contact Clif Bar & Company at 1-800-
CLIFBAR (1-800-254-3227) .

Hi, Ladies.

A friend of mine asked if I could spread the word and I thought some of you might be interested or may know someone who is.

Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis is looking for a few more runners for their charity numbers to run the Boston Marathon.  To qualify for the number, you don't have to be located in the Boston area or have an MS connection. You just have to be able to physically finish the marathon within 6 hours, and there is a required fundraising component (that ACP will help you to achieve).

Members of their team enjoy:

Race-quality team shirts
Pasta party for your family and friends on April 19th
Ability to customize your own runner web page with your bio, progress updates, and pictures - your supporters can donate directly on your page
Our own training director is available via email and phone!

For more information about our nonprofit, visit the Accelerated Cure Project website at www.acceleratedcure.org,

If you're interested or want to find out more, shoot me an email.

Thanks!

Hi all,
Just a reminder that we're having a run and brunch this Sunday.  The weather forecast says it will be clear and cold (20s), so let's hope that stays. We will hold this brunch if it is snowing, but if the City of Boston is in a snow emergency, it is cancelled.  We will also post up a notice on our website (bostonlunachix.com) Sunday morning if it is cancelled.

Hope to see you Sunday!

Thank you all for your interest in the Luna Chix trail run this Sunday! It looks like we'll have a great group this weekend. As promised, here's more info about this weekend's trail run:

Location: Meet up at the Sheepfold Parking area.  It is off the Fellsway West. Here's a DCR map showing the park and the location of the parking area.

Date & Time: Sunday, November 16h, 10am

Runs: The Reservoir trail loop is a nice 5.2 miles loop, and for those who would rather go shorter,  there's a good option to break off and do a shorter loop of about 3 miles (cutting between the middle and south reservoirs).

Carpools: If you need a ride, please email the list and hopefully we can find a ride for you.

Rain: It looks like rain may be heading our way this weekend. Let's hope it passes by Sunday! However, if it is lightly raining we'll be there, but if it is a downpour the event is cancelled (too slippery!). We will post notice by 8:30 am on our website- bostonlunachix. com if the run is cancelled.

We'll of course have lots of Luna goodies to hand out for some pre and post run nourishment. We hope to see you there!

Hello again!

Looks like I won't be able to make it on Sunday, which means no cousin
Vicky, and, unfortunately, no carpooling. Non-running company has
decided to come visit for the weekend, and it doesn't seem right to go
off on my own for the morning.

I'm all signed up for the Hyannis 1/2 Marathon, so I'll be looking
forward to other fall and winter runs!

Happy Weekend everyone!

Hi everyone!

I'll be there on Sunday, and will be bringing my cousin Vicky. We will
be coming from Somerville, and I've got room in my car for 3 more if
anyone needs a ride/would like to carpool.

This sounds like fun!

Is anyone interested in taking 1 leg in a marathon relay in Falmouth
this weekend on Sunday morning at 8:30am? We just had a runner
injured! So, the choice would be 3 miles or 5? And I have room in my
hotel room if you wanted to come down the night before and have dinner
with the rest of us ladies running! Let me know asap!!

Hi ladies,

It was great to see so many of you out today at the Tufts 10k!
Another great upcoming race is THE 4TH ANNUAL SEA TO SHINING SEA 5
MILER on Sunday in Nahant -
visit http://www.seatoshiningsea5miler.com/

Because, sadly, the days are getting darker earlier and the temp is
dropping, this Wednesday, October 15 will be our last official
Wednesday Night Run of the season. It's been great to meet and get
to know many of you throughout the summer, and we really hope you'll
join us again in the spring. Never fear, though - we will be having
some fun events throughout the winter. We hope to have a weekend
trail run in early November (more details to follow). We're also
hoping to have a few brunch runs and an open house at Healthworks.
And, of course, we encourage all of you to stay in touch and use the
message board if you're looking for folks to run with this winter,
or if you hear of any great races or other running events that you
think others might want to take part in.

Hope to see many of you on Wednesday! Thanks for a great season!

Kelli

The BAA Half Marathon this Sunday, October 12th, is sold out. My
fiance and I both registered, but he just started a new job and has to
work, and I injured my knee a few weeks ago and have been trying to
nurse it (a half marathon doesn't seem like the best idea). So we have
2 bib numbers we can't use: 1 female, 1 male. I think I found someone
to buy the female number, but I still have a male number to sell. We
paid $54.00 each to register. Let me know if you know anyone looking
for a male bib number!

I think a good number of us will be running the race, and Luna is
actually one of the sponsors so be sure to look for our booth at the
Expo! If folks are trying to find some buddies to keep pace with this
might be a good place to meet up.

For those of you interested, the Tufts 10k is a great race (flat course
- yay!) and Registration is still open --
http://www.tuftshealthplan.com/tufts10k/

Even if you're not up for running it, I definitely recommend checking
out the race if you're around. The elite field has historically been
pretty strong - last year Deena Kastor participated (and not
surprisingly won). And just seeing all of the women running and
walking is an amazing sight!

Hi All - I'm prepping for Bay State and hoping to find a long run
partner(s). I like to get them out of the way in the mornings,
preferrably Sat/Sundays. I live in the South End and usually knock
out the miles along the Charles, but I'm open to a change of
scenery. I run about 8/8:30 pace. Please let me know if you are
interested - Thanks!
