Hi running friends,
I hope you all had happy holidays and are enjoying this great running
weather (save the treacherous ice, that is!). The Luna Chix would like
to invite you to our first event of 2009- brunch with a nice brisk
run before.
The run and brunch will be on Sunday, January 25th, at 10:00 am at my
home in the South End. We will meet up at my place and then plot our
run. It is an easy jog down to the river or we can run along the
southwest corridor if folks want a change of scenery. We will also
decide on distance(s), depending on peoples desires that morning.
Generally distances have ranged from 2 miles to 7-8 miles. Upon
returning from the run, we will enjoy a lovely warm brunch and of
course have plenty of Luna product to take home.
You are welcome to bring something or someone to the brunch, but
neither is required. Email me directly if you are interested at:
anne.madden@...
and I can provide you with my address and directions. The is easy
street parking on Sundays and I'm close to the Back Bay and Copley T
stops.
We've done a few of these and they've been a lot of fun. They are also
a great way to get to know each other and maybe connect with a new
running partner. Hope to see you there!
Regards,
Annie
I think I'll be trotting in Derry, NH. Whoo hoo.

Just a reminder that we're hosting a trail run this Sunday. Hope the rain passes quickly and we see you Sunday morning!

Thank you all for your interest in the Luna Chix trail run this Sunday! It looks like we'll have a great group this weekend. As promised, here's more info about this weekend's trail run:
Location: Meet up at the Sheepfold Parking area. It is off the Fellsway West. Here's a DCR map showing the park and the location of the parking area.
Runs: The Reservoir trail loop is a nice 5.2 miles loop, and for those who would rather go
shorter, there's a good option to break off and do a shorter loop of about 3 miles (cutting between the middle and south reservoirs).
Carpools: If you need a ride, please email the list and hopefully we can find a ride for you.
Rain: It looks like rain may be heading our way this weekend. Let's hope it passes by Sunday! However, if it is lightly raining we'll be there, but if it is a downpour the event is cancelled (too slippery!). We will post notice by 8:30 am on our website- bostonlunachix. com if the run is cancelled.
We'll of course have lots of Luna goodies to hand out for some pre and post run nourishment. We hope to see you there!

The Boston Luna Chix will be hosting a trail run on Sunday, November 16th at 10am. We'll be running in the Middlesex Fells, just a short hop from Boston.
This is a good opportunity to get out of the routine of running along the river as well as connect with some running buddies to help you run through the fall and winter! We will, of course, have plenty of Luna
goodies to hand out.
Details/directions to come next week. Please email me (anne.madden@ yahoo.com) if you're interested (no commitment required) so we can make sure we have enough goodies to go around.
Hello again!
Looks like I won't be able to make it on Sunday, which means no cousin
Vicky, and, unfortunately, no carpooling. Non-running company has
decided to come visit for the weekend, and it doesn't seem right to go
off on my own for the morning.
I'm all signed up for the Hyannis 1/2 Marathon, so I'll be looking
forward to other fall and winter runs!
Happy Weekend everyone!
Allison
Hi everyone!
I'll be there on Sunday, and will be bringing my cousin Vicky. We will
be coming from Somerville, and I've got room in my car for 3 more if
anyone needs a ride/would like to carpool.
This sounds like fun!

Is anyone interested in taking 1 leg in a marathon relay in Falmouth
this weekend on Sunday morning at 8:30am? We just had a runner
injured! So, the choice would be 3 miles or 5? And I have room in my
hotel room if you wanted to come down the night before and have dinner
with the rest of us ladies running! Let me know asap!!
Hi ladies,
It was great to see so many of you out today at the Tufts 10k!
Another great upcoming race is THE 4TH ANNUAL SEA TO SHINING SEA 5
MILER on Sunday in Nahant -
visit http://www.seatoshiningsea5miler.com/
Because, sadly, the days are getting darker earlier and the temp is
dropping, this Wednesday, October 15 will be our last official
Wednesday Night Run of the season. It's been great to meet and get
to know many of you throughout the summer, and we really hope you'll
join us again in the spring. Never fear, though - we will be having
some fun events throughout the winter. We hope to have a weekend
trail run in early November (more details to follow). We're also
hoping to have a few brunch runs and an open house at Healthworks.
And, of course, we encourage all of you to stay in touch and use the
message board if you're looking for folks to run with this winter,
or if you hear of any great races or other running events that you
think others might want to take part in.
Hope to see many of you on Wednesday! Thanks for a great season!
Kelli
The BAA Half Marathon this Sunday, October 12th, is sold out. My
fiance and I both registered, but he just started a new job and has to
work, and I injured my knee a few weeks ago and have been trying to
nurse it (a half marathon doesn't seem like the best idea). So we have
2 bib numbers we can't use: 1 female, 1 male. I think I found someone
to buy the female number, but I still have a male number to sell. We
paid $54.00 each to register. Let me know if you know anyone looking
for a male bib number!
Janie
I think a good number of us will be running the race, and Luna is
actually one of the sponsors so be sure to look for our booth at the
Expo! If folks are trying to find some buddies to keep pace with this
might be a good place to meet up.
For those of you interested, the Tufts 10k is a great race (flat course
- yay!) and Registration is still open --
http://www.tuftshealthplan.com/tufts10k/
Even if you're not up for running it, I definitely recommend checking
out the race if you're around. The elite field has historically been
pretty strong - last year Deena Kastor participated (and not
surprisingly won). And just seeing all of the women running and
walking is an amazing sight!

Hey ladies, Many of us would like to do more speed work, but do not have easy access to a track. If you are interested in learning about some speed work techniques you can use when you're away from the track, please join us for a special clinic. Time: 6:30 (our usual meeting time) Place: The Cambridge side of the Mass. Ave. bridge (our usual meeting spot) After we hear from Coach Greg, we'll try out some of his suggested speed work techniques and do some running around the Charles. Then we will head over to the Asgard (350 Mass. Ave.) for some food and
drink. Should be a great time. If you have any questions, please let me know.
I would love to join as well...

I'm interested in a 1x/week Cambridge morning run and I could use a
buddy. I was thinking a Tuesday or Thursday morning- maybe 4-5 miles
or perhaps longer if there's interest? a 6:30am run would be perfect.
Also looking for a weekend run buddy, could be a bit later in the
