Hi all,
Any pregnant runners looking for company? I'm finding it harder to keep up w/
my regular
running group. Plus it's nice to have fellow athletes who can relate to
pregnancy fitness
issues and concerns.
Thus, I found a new (albeit VERY small so far) group in Arlington. It's for
pregnant runners
AND new moms (no strollers!).
We meet Wednesday mornings and run 4 miles at a 9-10 minute pace.
Contact me or check out http://www.seemommyrun.com/ma/grpsub?=55=site
(or www.seemommyrun.com and find groups > Arlington > Fit Mommas).
Cheers,
Julia
If anyone is driving through Harvard Sq on the way to the meeting spot, I'd be up for the ride! Otherwise, I will probably just try to run up Mass Ave and meet everyone there. I might not make it all that far with the group, though! Kim

We will be starting off our season of Wednesday night runs on Wednesday, April 2nd at 6:30 pm! The days are getting longer and warmer, so we can wait to get out and run again!
We meet every Wednesday at 6:30pm on the MIT side of the Mass Ave. Bridge. (This is very close to the Hynes- green line or Central Square- red line T-Stop, see directions from the T below). There is a big tree that we usually stand by pre-run. Please arrive a few minutes early as we'd like to start as close to 6:30 as possible. We run in light rain or shine (not thunder and lightening, however). We have a 3.5- 4 mile loop that we do regularly and many people opt to run longer afterwards or leave the pack earlier. We welcome women of all paces and experience levels. (Some us us will be doing a combination of running a walking.)
We will be handing out Luna's new performance products (http://www.lunabar.com/pages/sport) at the run this Wednesday. Its a great product to energize and recover with as we delve into longer runs this spring!
Also, stay tunes for an April weekend running brunch!
Please let us know if you have any questions.
See you soon,
The Boston Luna Chix
Directions from Hynes T-stop (green line): Turn right outside the main Hynes entrance. Walk (or run) up Massachusetts Ave toward the river. Continue across the Mass Ave Bridge. We will be standing by the tree just over the bridge.
Directions from Central Square T-stop (red line): Walk (or run) down Massachusetts Avenue. You will pass MIT. We will be at the big tree just before the bridge.
Driving: If you are planning to drive, please email the message board for creative parking ideas!
I live in the area too and run with Mina a lot in the evenings but we both are always saying we should go in the AM. Esp. as the Run to Remember is so early. I need to get some hills into my runs as I tend to go for flat courses. How early are you thinking?

I'm running above 10min miles and would like to start a morning routine - I'm not a morning person and still working on knee issues, but 4-5mi at 10:30-11min pace is definitely doable for me. I live in Inman and would love to meet up around Union Sq during the week.

I'm running above 10min miles and would like to start a morning routine - I'm not a morning person and still working on knee issues, but 4-5mi at 10:30-11min pace is definitely doable for me. I live in Inman and would love to meet up around Union Sq during the week.

I'm wondering if anyone is thinking about putting together a team to run the 200 mile Reach the Beach relay this year, and needed another runner. I'd like to run it, but don't think I know enough people to put together a team on my own.
Hey,
Can someone please give me directions from off the Hynes Convention
green line stop? I'm not sure where exactly you are meeting..what is it
close to? thanks!
If you are planning to meet others tomorrow, I also live in Brighton (cleveland circle) , so maybe we could travel together.
Only thing is, I can only do 4-5 miles??
Geraldine.

Where exactly do you meet? I will be coming from Brighton and usually
park near Trader Joe's (in the parking area near one of the crew boat
houses on Memorial Drive. Where should I go to meet you if I am coming
from there? Or directions from Storrow Drive would be good too.
i can't make it tomorrow but if anyone's interested - i'm doing a 5 mile training run on sunday morning (not too early, probably around 1030). i'm not sure where just yet, probably starting from near my apartment in prospect hill - but if someone else wanted to join me i'd be open to meeting somewhere more centrally located. let me know!

It's at 5 Greenough Blvd, Cambridge and there's parking right there.
We can run along the river...hopefully the weather is good.
I'll def be there. If it's pouring rain, I'm not running. Sprinkling
rain, I'll be there.
Looking forward to running with someone!

It's at 5 Greenough Blvd, Cambridge and there's parking right there. We can run along the river...hopefully the weather is good.
I'll def be there. If it's pouring rain, I'm not running. Sprinkling rain, I'll be there.

Where exactly do you meet? I will be coming from Brighton and usually
park near Trader Joe's (in the parking area near one of the crew boat
houses on Memorial Drive. Where should I go to meet you if I am coming
from there? Or directions from Storrow Drive would be good too.
Thanks!
Laura
Hi everyone,
I'm also signed up for my first Run to Remember. I'd love to meet up
for longer runs on the weekends (Sundays work best for me). As for
training, I'm up to about 8 miles for my long runs. I'm running about
a 9:00-9:30 minute mile these days.
So if anyone is interested, let me know. My email is
mvilladelgado@.... I'd love people to train with --- not to
mention, to run with for the actual Run to Remember.
Maureen
I'm definitely in for the Big Lake. Signed up a while ago and drove the first half of the race route last weekend to check it out when I was up there. Let me know if you'd like to coordinate some runs in the weeks leading up to it.
I won't be able to make the Wed pm run on 4/2 unfortunately, but hopefully I'll be there the week after.
Also doing Doyle's 5 mile (http://www.doylesroadrace.com/) Anyone else doing that one? I'm signed up alone and would love to meet up w/someone before or after.

I posted a long time ago, but now that Wed. night runs are starting
again, soon, I wanted to ask again...
I'm running the Big Lake 1/2 Marathon in Alton, NH on May 10th, as well as the Boston Run to Remember 1/2 marathon on May 25th. If anyone is interested or signed up for these runs, I'd be happy to
train a bit with you for long runs on the weekends in April/May and maybe even drive up to NH together...
Looking forward to warmer days and longer runs!

Emily, I would be up for running with you (and whomever else emailed about this before). I am sorry I didn't respond before, but I think you guys are a lil faster than me (this will be my first half marathon, and I am just hoping to finish). I ran 10 miles last week with my friend, and we made pretty good time, so I am a little more optimistic about the Run to Remember. I work in Watertown and live in Somerville, so it is really easy for me to meet people around the river after work. I would like to try some weekend morning runs, as I am a night owl and know it will be hard to run the god-awful early R2R.

Mark your calendars. We will be starting off our season of Wednesday night runs on Wednesday, April 2nd! The days are getting longer and warmer, so we can wait to get out and run again!
We meet every Wednesday at 6:30pm on the MIT side of the Mass Ave. Bridge. (This is very close to the Hynes- green line or Central Square- red line T-Stop).
O.k,
I won't guarantee I"ll be there, but I"ll try!!
Geraldine.

Hi Geraldine. I think I ran with you once in Brookline. Anyway, yes, according
to this string, I think it was from Deb coming from Maine and then looks to be a
10:30 start. The weather is not supposed to be good but I need to start
somewhere.

Hi,
Is anyone still running tomorrow? I lost track of how many might come.
Thanks,

I plan on running Saturday morning if you want to meet and then go at our own

doing a 10 min mile for 3.5-4 miles now.

I am heading to Maine early and could make a stop in Boston to join in
