Hi Ladies,

Just a quick reminder that we have decided to end our weekly Wed. night runs for the season. Weekly runs will usually resume in April (depending on weather).

In the meantime, there will be lots of fun "off season" events going on such as weekend brunch runs and other events.

Our next event will be Wed. November 7th from 8:00-10:00 pm at Healthworks in Brookline. We'll be checking out the great facilities at Healthworks and taking their Gym Class!!

“This class will bring you back to the fun days of “recess” in grade school. Full of games, drills, cardio & muscle intervals; this class is sure to keep you entertained! (No complicated choreography allowed!)”

More details are on the attached flyer and let us know if you have any questions. This is a great event to bring your "non-runner" friends and co-workers too as well!

Hope to see you then.
Alex

Hi Ladies-

I am writing to announce that our Wednesday night runs have ended for
the season. Next week is Halloween and its already quite dark by 6:30
pm. We will resume the Wednesday night runs in April when the weather
and daylight are more ideal.

In the meantime, we have some fun things in store for the winter.

On Wednesday November 7th, we will be hosting a gym night at the
Brookline Healthworks. Watch for more details soon.

We will be coordinating a number of weekend runs followed by brunches.
What better way to spend a cold Saturday morning than running with the
group and warming up after with some delicious potluck brunch? More
details soon.

We will again be putting on Luna Fest, the all women's film festival.
It has been a hit the past two years in Boston, and we are hoping to
make it another great night this year. It will likely be in February.
Again, more details soon.

Lastly, we encourage you to find runing buddies through the message
boards. You can probobly find someone in your area that wants to run
at a time that suits you. It can be extra motivating during the winter
months to run with people. There are usually a group of us up for
running on Saturday mornings. That being said, please be smart about
using the message boards. Send general emails to the group, but
finalize you plans (i.e. share personal contact info) off the boards
using your regular email address.

Its been a delight meeting and running with all of you this season and
we look forward to keeping in tough over the winter months.

Hey, Ladies!

I haven't been running so much lately because I'm having knee problems again : (   Recently, it's come to my attention that it's most likely from extreme over-pronating on the side I broke my ankle a few years back-- I never got any rehab and it's coming back to haunt me.

Anyway, I'm thinking of checking out those inserts that I keep seeking them do fittings for at races before I think about spending $3-400 on custom orthotics.  I saw them at the fitness pavilion for Iron Girl and Tufts 10k most recently.  Does anyone know the name of that company?  I can't for the life of me remember!

Does anyone remember what those were called?  I've had no luck trying to track them down online.  Or has anyone had good/bad experiences with other orthotic products?  I'd appreciate any input you guys have.

Thanks all,

Mina

Hi Deb,

I tried to look through the old posts and see your email but could
not find it.

I totally forgot about sending you information about the Sock. The
sock is Strassburg sock- soft night splint. I got mine for $34 in
Marathon Sports.

There are various places too you can buy it online.

http://www.northcoastfootcare.com/store/strassburg-sock-soft-night-
splint-p-36.html

Congratulations on the Tufts 10K, I cannot wait to hear about it. I
am not going to be at the run tonight I have something else on.

Catch up Soon. Hope everyone else is doing great.

The sock I am recommending works wonders for Plantar Fascia problems.

will be sampling Luna's new products, Luna Sport, and selling raffle
tickets and water bottles to raise money for the Breast Cancer Fund.

For more info check out the Tufts 10 website: www.tuftshealthplan.com/tufts10k/

We've also got a few more weeks of light and warm weather. We'd love
to see you at a Wednesday night run. We meet at the MIT side of the
Mass Ave bridge and run a 3.5 ish mile loop around the river. All
paces are welcome.

We'll also have some great events planned for over the winter, so stay tuned.

Hope to see you soon!

Hi Katrina -

Thanks for your nice note...  My schedule has been ridiculously hectic lately and I couldn't make it last week.  There is a slim chance I may make it this Wed., but if not, then I will definitely be there on the last Wed. of the month and now have it blocked off on my calendar thereafter.  I was so glad to find your group and don't want to miss out on the opportunity to be a part of it!  The cool weather is certainly in full swing now...  I can't believe how cold it is out at the moment.  Though I hear that will change by the weekend.

I look forward to meeting you soon...

Sincerely,
Meredith

Now that the weather is cooling off a little (and the weather reports
say no rain), its a great time to join the Luna Chix for a Wednesday
Night Run. We've still got plenty of time before it gets to dark and
cold to run on the river!

We meet on the MIT side of the Mass Ave. Bridge at 6:30 pm and run 3.5
mile loop.
We'd love for you to join us tonight!

A place for moms to take a break!
