After almost 2 years of development the program is finally
presentable. The BoomSmith program is packed in a zip file less than
1 MB and has been uploaded to the Programs folder in the Files section.
Play with it and let me know what you think.
If the graphs don't make sense at least you can store tuning
information in the .bsm boomerang model files.
This is probably high tech to me since i don't understand how it works..
Is there a manual avaliable Would be nice to learn more about it and how the different parameters work.
MPH , Rotation speed etc.
Nice work and graphics.
Way to go:)

Thanks for the reply, Sorry it took so long for me to respond. You
asked me for a manual for BoomSmith. I plan to add lots of
information to the Help menu, but for now I just uploaded a Readme.rtf
file to the Programs folder in the Files section.
The Readme file has instructions for installation, getting started,
How to interpret the plots and How it works.
Let me know how it goes.

Can you tell me what it is supposed to do and how one is to use it?

I just downloaded Boomsmith 1.0 today. I couldn't open the
readme file before but now I can with MS Wordpad. It's all very
interesting. I was playing with it but I don't quite understand how to
navigate it yet.
I was wondering if anyone else here has been using this program
and if it can be discussed a little bit. I want to learn how to use it
better. Andrew, maybe you or another member can start out with some
basic tutorial discussion, maybe using a 6mm birch traditional shape
for an example to help us grasp the controls better.
I've heard of a number of boomerang design softwares during the
years that I've been online, but I never could really use or
understand them. So far this is as close as I've gotten to be able to
use them. Thanks so much for this very intelligent contribution to our
sport and hobby :)
If anyone here can suggest some other useful boomerang design
software and how to use it, please do. I'm very curious to learn more
about all this. Thank you to all you smart guys who are trying to
share this with us brain-dead americans haha! :)
P.S. By the way Andrew, I'm just guessing that you're not from The
States. Where are you from actually? Your new program really is very
impressive.

The help menu does have some notes and how-to information to get you
started(If you downloaded everything just this week). This program is
new enough that there is not a large library of examples yet. Two
examples are in the zip file itself including the Voyager which just
has a guess at how it is really tuned.
If you have any specific questions or suggestions for features let me
know.
My suggestion to anyone that wants to play with BoomSmith is to start
with a picture of your favorite boomerang. Trace it in the program
and make the foils match your boom the best you can. Then post the
models on this site for all to discuss.
Thanks for your support John!!!
