Good Day Mr Octogenarian. (Rusty)

I was pleased to see your many friends congratulating you on your eighty year Milestone. As is my way, I sat back and enjoyed reading the many accolades that came your way.

You are often in my fondest thoughts, a bit like “Fried Eggs and Crispy bacon”. Like fried eggs and crispy bacon though we just don’t come together as much as I would like.

Reading your health problems reminded me of my brother “Jack”.

I was also reminded of wise words that came my way when in Primary School.

“Being of good health, beats being of good wealth.”

No! That doesn’t mean if you’re sick you must be wealthy.

I found a source of plywood again. Hoop Pine Marine 6mm five ply and 4mm three ply.

Nearby another supplier has 6mm Pacific Maple marine grade at about 60% of the cost of hoop pine.

The grain texture is very different so I plan to have lots of fun checking which one is better regards flight performance. Hand sanding them is what I would imagine it would be like rubbing the fur from a ferret.

The words on one of Gary’s shirt, is still ringing true.

“Do what you love, Love what you do.”

      Sure works for me.

                  Boomerang Brother Bob

Bob

Great news about finding plywood again. Some of my favorite boomerangs from you
are made from the Hoop Pine. It will be interesting to hear the results of
trying the Pacific Maple. We'll be waiting.

We have had some really good days, haven't we Bob! I think I began thinking of you as a brother the first day we met, we had/have so much in common. You're right, it reminds me too, of Fried Eggs and bacon, something I've loved for so many years, something that literally says, "HOME!" in a different, wonderful way!

Jack always felt he and you had to compete for everything! I learned a lot from him and about him while he was with me for that week. He both looked up to you, and envied you, too, feeling that you both were in some ways fighting for attention. I sensed that he thought that both in and out of the family.

I don't know whether or not he told "Railroad" stories at home, but he sure had some interesting ones to tell me while we were driving around. I liked him, Bob.

I sure agree, good health does beat wealth, but with the economy in the US not favoring the low income retirees, it wouldn't hurt to have a little more wealth either. I just wish, Bob that Free or low cost energy that has been developed by some inventors since the 1980's would be allowed to reach the market rather than be bought and locked up because the monied interests care more about greed than they do "health and wealth for all!" If they don't buy it outright, they threaten the lives of the inventors and others wishing to bring the ideas to the public for the better good of all energy needy nations. Just look at some of the new energy ideas that some of your country's inventors are coming up with and how few ever benefit the lower and middle classes. Something has to be done to get these inventions into the public's hands. When things that will reduce the costs of energy come along, they need to be produced, and at the lowest possible cost to the consumer. Sadly, little of this ever gets to market!

Got to run, Bob. Keep the boomerang developments coming. Hope the new plywoods work out.

Rusty
