Cub Scout Day Camp 2009
day 2: Day Camp Picture Link
you guy got'a try this. 125+ cub scouts in 20 to 23 groups, at 40 minute intervals. making paints stick boomerangs, decorating them. I had a 4 inch sears belt sander and 120grt belt. a quick rubber banding, then off to the field to give them all a "SAFE-TOSS" .
only 4 boomerangs were confiscated because of throwing outside the safe zone and the on-lookers knew not to mess with the rules or Mr. David.
all in all a great way to learn and teach at the same time. I'm still trying to figure out what I was suppose to learn. oh yea.. wear a hat. it hit 90 by 1:00and my brain is fried.
at lunch time I went solo out in the field and threw and threw and even made a few outstanding catch if I say so myself. (for once)
Arts version of the classic E-Rang was the hit of the lunch time show. it was spot on every time. with a few trick throws (over the wall), I had it landing on my back.. I even got a few regular throws to hover down right on target and was able to do some foot catches. ART, it fleies really 'cool'. it was the star.
bottom line, I had a GREAT TIME.
if you ever get a chance to do a large group demo, give it as go.
