Actually I used a lot of clear coating to help prevent patina from
forming, although I imagine it probably will do do eventually anyway.
I really like the shiny bright finish on the copper contrasting with
the dark stained wood, all with a gloss finish.
I doubt the copper will protect too much. The aircraft ply is
probably stronger! I just hope it survives the intial flight testing
in reasonable shape.
I used 5 minute epoxy to glue the copper sheeting to the wood.
