Hi Pat and Everyone,
I'm very upset over the loss of Boomerang Talk and Dave website
bvdrangs.com These are both tremendous losses to the world wide
boomerang community. Pat, I think it's quite appropriate that BT
members migrate to your group. David F., I had no knowledge of your
group beginnerboomerangs101. I'll join shortly. I think that will be a
great list for beginners to go and I'm enthusiastic about beginners
having somewhere to converge. This is basically the reason why Dave
Hendricks broke away from ranglist. To give beginners a place to go
without feeling intimated by know-it-all experienced boomers.
I'm glad Dave mentioned my google group
http://groups.google.com/group/realworkingboomerangs in his final BT
post and wrote him personally to thank him. I'm sorry I didn't get a
chance to Invite you all from there. I prefer the google system to the
Yahoo system but I see that I have one of the very few boomerang
forums on google, while Yahoo has a good number of boom groups of
which I'm a member of many.
I started Realworkingboomerangs when I first heard of Google
Groups because I wanted to see what kind of features they had there.
As of this writing, no one new has joined my group and the last post
was made on March 17th by me. Currently there are 11 members. It's
just another option among the now numerous groups available. I wanted
to give you guys a very simple rundown on what it's about and what to
expect. It's an adult site that will be very loosely moderated. I
chose adult status because most all of us are responsible adults who
don't need babysitting.
I'm not a big fan of moderating and screening emails. People
express their selves differently and I don't like the way rules have
been imposed on me on other forums in the past. If someone on my list
appears (in my opinion) to be offensive, I'll speak to them once and
if we can't arrive at a peaceful agreement that suits me, they'll have
to take their personality elsewhere. It's my intention for
realworkingboomerangs to run itself. Just a place for good time
boomerangers to converge and for beginners to our hobby to find out
what they may want to know. If problems escalate to the level that
destroyed Boom Talk, I'll shut down my group too.
So I humbly invite you all into realworking boomerangs. Just
bear in mind that it's a free service composed of you the member. You
will make the group what it is and no one will be obligated to another
to furnish a tailor made experience.
Cheers!
John V.
