I'm not sure if Brian decided to move to Colorado for the same reasons as you mentioned, Gail. But, I know for me personally, I loved going to Las Vegas. It was a special time and being right there at the same hotel with the skaters made it a perfect weekend. I met so many of them just walking around and even talked to several in line at the buffet at breakfast. Being that the venue was right there as well, we didn't have to drive anywhere or look for parking and there's so much to do in Vegas to kill time.
I will probably go to Colorado this next December, but I know the trip is harder to plan and much more expensive as I will have to fly as it's too far to drive...I can get to Vegas in my car in under 5 hours.
Brian is wonderful and I will support him and go see him, if possible, anywhere he goes. But, selfishly, I wish the show would move back to Vegas.
I am now to be referred to as Dr. Jenkins haha ;) Took me about a month to get
certified, but after ringing these ppl 1 801 697-0461 they got me setup
at
an international uni and had me my BA in no time.
Man, I am still kicking myself for NOT going to the John Tesh one.... WHY
WHY WHY!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Last summer I took my niece to a national cheerleading championship in Knoxville, Tennessee. The reason I mention it is because this year it was supposed to be in Las Vegas, but they decided the facilities were too expensive and moved it to Madison, Wisconsin. To be honest, since most of the teams who take part are more toward the east, I actually wondered if they just wanted to not have to travel as far as Nevada and whine to the national office. Only Colorado and Arizona are that far west, for the competition I mean. but since Brian's show moved also, I wondered it it was a financial decision on his part as well--at least partly.
I went in 1999 (the one with musical guest John Tesh), and had lots of fun. We talked to Brian and his dad at the Mandalay Bay. It was funny because my friend's aunt said you girls take Brian, I'll take his dad! LOL!
When his shows were in Vegas, about 40-50 people went. I heard that the number was smaller this past December when the show moved to Colorado. He does secure seating for us, but we pay for the ticket. Our seats are usually in rows 4-7 center ice. I have gone to 9 of these events and enjoy it so much. I didn't make it to Colorado this last year, but am hoping to go in 2007.
Exactly. I get this on my two 'Lost Groups' and a few others. One way to combat it is for the owners of the group to fix it so they have to approve members before they join. That way you can at least keep an eye out for oddball or possibly fake e-mails. And you can kick anyone out who does send spam to your group. The groups I own personally are like that, and in a friend's group I monitor a few weeks ago I had to ban someone for sending spam to the group. None of the groups I mentioned above are fixed so members have to be approved by the owners. However, I do belong to another Boitano group, for example, that is
It is not the actual "members" of this group that are sending the spam. These are folks that are searching the Internet, looking for newsgroups and such to blast their crap to many at once.
This group is meant for posting thoughts about Brian Boitano or figure skating, or so I thought when I joined it. Increasingly it is being used as a host for spam. If this is to be the purpose of this group then please disenroll me as I do not care for any extra spam.

He has been doing this for a while. I have been to 3 I think. The first one
and then two others. They have been in Vegas for what maybe 10 years?
Ladies?
I really really LOVED the first one and each one after has been special in
it's own way. I wish they were still in Vagas.

With the fan club membership, you get a newletter from Brian every two months, plus an autographed picture of him. The only other perk is that we are invited to his Skating Spectacular each year and are allowed to watch a rehearsal and after rehearsal, Brian spends some time with us talking about the show and basically just chatting about things he's doing and we get to ask him questions etc. That alone is worth the membership to me.
thanks, kristi. if anyone here can confirm that the cost of membership
is definiely $15, i will send a check tomorrow and maybe get on the
mailing list in time for the next newsletter, as you say.

As of the last newsletter, there doesn't seem to be anything on his schedule at the time. We should be getting a new letter soon and if you sign up now, you may receive the next letter. They are pretty quick in getting you on the mailing list.
thanks, leah! since the fan club uses snail mail, it may take a while
before my membership can be processed. while i wait, does anybody
here at least know what bb has going on in the next two months?

His fan club address is: Brian Boitano's Fan Club, 101 First Street, #370, Los Altos, CA 94022. I believe membership is $15.00 a year. They can keep you informed on everything you asked about. Hope this helps!
hi, all. i hope the new year is treating everyone well. i have some questions about bb, and i hope somebody here can help. i am not very internet savvy, so please bear with me if i ask something that should be easy to find on my own!
what is the best way to keep up to date on bb's schedule? i am curious to find out what he'll be doing this year and when, but his own website seems to be sparse on information.
a related question.....does anybody do a regular fan newsletter or blog for him?
what else does white canvas productions do other than bb skating shows? is bb involved with those projects too?
finally, other than starlight and youth skate, what other charities does bb currently work with?
i hope this isn't too much of a pain to answer. thanks a lot for any information you have!

I also loved some of the "skating" programs.... Isolation Hotel was
interesting. Man From La Mancha... Tom's Diner.
